Turns out the Thunderbolt turns into a WYSIWYG ClanTech machine easily.

Quite a lot of possible configurations. ER lasers, pulse lasers, ER PPC, missiles with or without Artemis, Streak missiles. Heat capacity would vary a bit depending on the armament mass, or alternatively one could be a bit extravagant and use TarComps and/or electronics to fill out the 'Mech.
And this all before using weight saving tech.

Simple and extravagant versions. The latter goes faster and has ancillary stuff.

God damnit. This book is gonna go sit in the corner and think about what its done.

The best thing about "Hour of the Wolf" is actually this very review. I had more fun with it than while reading that steaming pile of manure.

Yeah, the explanation for why they were doing what they were doing made no sense.
It makes some sense if the goal is not to "prevent" the events as we see them told, but to use these specific moments to "eliminate" future players from the timeline that we're not told would have played a role.

Examples could be Elizabeth (Estella's twin) and "K-5" (Grace's stand-in).

I will keep watching, I think what you both are describing is mostly caused by the Matsumoto not telling Vivy (or us) all the information, only providing things that are 'need to know' for specific circumstances.
Which may also be only intended to prevent situations like Vivy's reboot/partial wipe between episode 6 and 7.

Is it possible they were brought with the SDLF to help protect the fleet during their exodus and then mothballed?  Just because they have information doesn't mean they know how to use it. The Hells Horses had to relearn about vehicle jump jets and chemical lasers. The Jade Falcons were relearning about LAMs. Caspar and other Drones could just be a technology not used in so long that the Clans no longer understand it.

The whole Clan ethos is to give Warriors as many chances as possible to prove their worth so they can score enough codex points to get their genes into the breeding program and sire a sibko or three.  Letting a drone (either AI or run remotely by a Technician) take a chance at glory away from a Warrior would be a huge societal taboo.

General Kerensky had super hatred for Drones he made sure to destroy as much as possible before leaving, and the Clans hate drones about as much but for different reasons.

As for the Red Corsair, that she can't be trusted doesn't mean she wasn't pregnant. It wouldn't be the first time that that condition and it's results were used as a means of control.

No, but it does mean that anything she says shouldn't be taken as fact unless it can be verified by an outside source.  She was a liar and a manipulator and anything she said is therefore suspect.
