(Answered) Heat and Heat Sinks

Hi there. I've played Battletech a little in the 80's and 90's and again around 2010. Interested to start again in the lockdown by reading and learning the rules based on the books I had available at that time. Slowly starting with movement before entering into other rules sections but ... I ran into a quesiton on heat dissipitation in the meantime.

Via SSW I printed a record sheet for the Locust LCT-3S. The sheet says the mech dissipates 10 heat a turn and it has 4 heat sinks in the legs. In the meantime I understood the Fusion enging dissipate 6 heat + 4 heat sinks makes 10. I also understand that if the Locust loses a leg it will only dissipate 8 heat a turn due to the loss of 2 heat sinks.

To test myself I also checked a Wasp. It has the same Fusion engine but the engine only dissipates 4 heat, i.e. it has 6 heat sinks assigned as criticals. Now I'm lost, same engine but different level of heat dissipatation?

Is this part of the basis design of the chasis that has nothing to do with the engine that is mounted in the mech?

All mechs get 10 free heat sinks, but it's the size of the engine that determines how many of those sinks can be contained inside the engine vs having to be placed on the mech's critical table on its record sheet.  The Locust, with its bigger engine, can hold more sinks.  The formula is in TechManual, or the new A Game of Armoured Combat box set.
