So I've never been a fan of 'Use average move' rule in the SBF/ACS and checking something out today and I noticed that it actually is a made as I thought, from the 1SW book the stats for a 2786 FS ACS Combat Unit Light 'Mech battalion has a move of 7 and is made up of 1 Medium 'Mech Company and two Light 'Mech Companies. That Medium 'Mech Company in turn has move 6 and is made of of one lance each of Light, Medium and Heavy 'Mechs. And the move stat for a Lance of Heavy 'Mechs is 5.

Does anyone else find this a bit silly?

The TMMs are generally  a bit high for The Mech units too, but I reckon these stats have not had the jump value from the ACS combat team applied correctly, from the construction rules.

An AFFS light 2786 battalion has a TMM of 5, I think probably should be 4

My maths on it is:

Jump values (2+2+2)/3 (number of teams) = 2 divided by 3 again to get 0.67 or rounded normal to 1

Carried forward ACS Combat team TMM values are  (3+3+2)/3= 2.67 or 3 rounded normal

Final TMM for the battalion is Jump value + TMM = 4

This is consistent across all 3 sets of the ACS tables but I don’t think it follows the constructions rules in Interstellar ops or Battleforce

It's an artifact of how averages work... While I agree the slowest units should determine the movement of the whole formation, that's not how the rules as written work.  :-\
