Title: Aerospace Individual Weapons
Post by: theothersarah on 08 March 2021, 22:53:32
I have a couple of questions about the "Individual Weapons" rules for aerospace combat on page 114 (second printing.)

As applied to aerofighters, the text specifically mentions that you adjust the range of the weapons to match TW and you can select the rate of fire for rapid fire weapons. (The latter can conceivably be done without any further rules adjustments by just reading off the average cluster table result.)

1. Do you adjust other aspects of how the weapons work to match TW? For instance, IS SRMs will have ranges of 3-6-9-12, but will you also roll on the cluster table for number of missiles hit, then apply the damage in two-point groupings? You can select the rate of fire of RAC/2s, but will you roll on the cluster table and apply the hits in two-point clusters? Will LB-X autocannons roll on the cluster table and then do 1 point groupings? Will VSP lasers use the full set of to-hit modifiers at different ranges? And so forth.

2. Does this allow selectable munition types?

3. Do you follow the other rules of extreme ranges on page 85 of TacOps (second printing) such as -2 to cluter rolls, half damage for pulse lasers, etc. even in space?

Thanks!
