The crux of the issue is does the Type of JJ used matter for generating heat in Airmech Mode? On the IJJ-P rules section on Page 97 of IO:AE it only mentions Jumping MP and on the Heat Phase section for LAMs on page 107 it makes no distinction between all 3 types of JJ.
