Hi,

Do the Primitive Prototype Weapons Rules apply to Naval Capital Weaponry of a similar type? For example, Capital Lasers generating 50% more heat.

I'm asking because in 2236 during the Outer Reaches Rebellion heavy lasers were used to bombard Jefferson city on Freedom. That's before Naval Capital Lasers were introduced in ~2305 but within the prototype date of Early Spaceflight that IO gives them. So I'm wondering if the Primitive Prototype Weapons Rule applies to them and other Naval Weaponry. If not, that would mean there's classes of weapons we don't have any information for, right?

It's too broad an extrapolation to say if such weapons would fall under the existing categorization.  You'll have to wait for some hypothetical future sourcebook to give hard details.
