(Answered) ProtoMechs and Torpedo Launchers
« on: 30 March 2015, 14:38:45 »
Torpedo launchers are not listed as separate weapon systems in the tables in the back of TechManual, but do get their own description on page 230. There is an ammunition listing on p.346. (If only they were just special ammo; they'd get some use then...)

Page 88 talks about the kind of launchers you can mount on a ProtoMech, and has a line to specifically state ATMs can't be mounted on ProtoMechs. There is no such line for Torpedo Launchers.

Can Torpedo Launchers be mounted on ProtoMechs? I infer 'yes', as it's a variant of standard (SRM/LRM) launchers, and using the same 'per tube' rules as LRMs, SRMs.

Torpedo launchers can indeed be mounted on Protomechs.

For those wondering why anyone would bother, note that the most recent TW errata allows Protomechs to move underwater.
