So did Able manage to prevent the Collection from hiring other mercs or did he just make it a rare occurance?

Check out either ER3145 or FM- Able's Aces have expanded as the Collection's military, they own a autocannon factory in the Rim's territory, and I am trying to remember what they produce- primitives?

Aye, they produce primitive Commandos. Not sure if they've upped their manufacturing game since they changed their name to the Timbuktu Collective though.

They moved on to modern bug mechs in the current era. It's possible they also upgraded their commando line, but nothing's been said one way or another.
Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

IIRC the novel had a clause in their contract where they were the only military contracted with the state/government. The fact that it was a full regiment was a boon to the small state. They trained the militia, had their own manufacturing (eventually), and their own aerospace units/Dropship’s (?).

Honestly it’s been a while since I read the novel but it had a lot of information in it.

I think that was just a misdirect.  According to Sarna.net they became the legitimate military force in the Rim Collection and continue when it expanded.  If they do hire mercenaries it might be more akin to joining the army than hired to do a job.

Bumping instead of posting a new thread; does anyone know what colour scheme and heraldry the Rim Collection Militia uses? Other than Able's Aces, I haven't been able to find anything online about what they look like. I'm also not sure which (if any) Lyran units defected to the Timbuktu Collective.

I wanna paint a unit from the Timbuktu Collective/Rim Collection, but I haven't been able to find much to go off of.

Looked up some of the manuals and other than the logo on each mech has there does not seem to be a unified colour scheme.  Even sarna.net has said very little has been written on the Aces.

I would suggest using former Lyran colours or camouflage is your best bet.

So it's not just me then. Thanks!

Probably gonna do camo with mixed Timbuktu Theatre Militia/Rim World Republic trim or symbols. Feels like what the Timbuktu Collective's militia units would be sporting.

I’ll have to find the novel ‘By Blood Betrayed’ and look in there. I do know they paint the Ace of Spades on their right (?) side.

According to FM: Lyran Alliance the Timbuktu Theater Militia uses pale blue with white highlights.
