Do we know what became of David Lear & Vapula after the Jihad?

There is a thread around here on David Lear. He had the temerity to die of natural causes.

If i remember right, Vapula . The Professor who designed the Manei Domini's equipment such as the Celestial OmniMech Series, their Demon Battle Armor, Spectrum OmniFighter was captured by coalition forces in 3078.  They didn't spell out what happened to him.  Likely prison or a psych hospital.  However, never been clarified.  He always was a background character.

But did he? I wouldn't put it past Stone that the ordered to assassinate Lear. Especially when looking at the other heinous shit Stone did in the background.

One of his buddies from the prison camp, a background character of no great importance otherwise.

He died only a few years before Stone froze himself and he mourns the fact that Lear couldn't be in the other cryo pod.

Vapula could be the RotS' version of Werner von Braun.

Vapula was captured and was later interrogated. Plus he was basically "de-Manei Dominied" (removing all cybernetics) before they interrogated him. I guess he was later incorporated into the research the Republic did. The FM for Interstellar Expeditions also has a small part about what happened to most Blakist researchers. It was basically a "work for us or face trial for warcrimes" suggestion. I mean someone has to come up with the technological ideas for Clarion Call or Fortress or whatever the Republic still has up it's sleeves.

This is exactly what I figured he was and I was looking for equipment that he might have designed for the RotS but I couldn't find anything.

I'll have to track the thread down.  I always thought that if anyone was a Wobbly plant it was David.  Most of the things he spouted off in the Jihad books echoed the sentiments of the WOB.

I believe the Republic called it Operation Stapler, according to Interstellar Operations. But same deal...

It and FM: 3085 both mention a large number of Wobbies being incorporated into ROTS intelligence and weapons/tech research.
There’s also a scene in one of the later Jihad source books of Vapula’s interrogation - he basically mouths off and tries to show how much smarter he is, as they grill him on the Hidden Five.
Maybe he spent the rest of his years under very, very, very close security assisting ROTS intelligence try and crack the mysteries of the Hidden Five?

I'll have to track the thread down.  I always thought that if anyone was a Wobbly plant it was David.  Most of the things he spouted off in the Jihad books echoed the sentiments of the WOB.

In my mind he was the WOB handler of Stone, and when Lear "was dying" Stone had to go without his handler, and explain some of his "Moves".
