I have a good amount of buildings . Some are old ones that I'm improving, and
some are new . The newer ones are from Hardware Studios . They have LOTS of windows .

These are all hollow buildings . The windows are backed with plexiglass with a white
film on the back . I intend on lighting them up all up with
LED/ white lights on the inside . The white film on the plexiglass should
obscure any internal details and just show as a diffused even
light throughout each building .
Some will be a tan color . I plan on basing them with a khaki spray and covering
that with Rust-oleum Multicolor textured spray paint . Desert Bisque is the color .
Small details like doors,AC condensers, pipes,ETC will be taped off then painted
other colors to add detail.

My BIG problem is this : I can't find a source or idea for GRAY buildings . That Rust-oleum
paint is NOT available in a light gray . Anything similar in gray has white/black
globules that are WAY to big to make it look right .
Krylon FINE textured stone looks just right-but it's currently unavailable .

With what I'm planning in mind does anyone have any recommendations of what to do
for the GRAY buildings ?
Thanks for any suggestions .

Could always use a lighter gray or even dirty white and then hit it with a gray stain- color darkens and the paint seals up.

Other thing was that I recently found some foam spraypaint at a hobby store that was light grey.

Do you have any pics of the "foam spray paint"?  I'm really wondering about that...  ???

It is normal paint, when I tested on some free styrofoam it melted.  I guess it was for the hobby foam?  maybe green foam . .

So it's paint for Styrofoam, rather than that paint that expands into Styrofoam? ???

Yeah . . . except it melted the weak styrofoam I tried it on.  I did not try it on my denser/tougher stuff.

I'm super confused or maybe I am just reading this all wrong....why can't you use your normal method and then just spray the entire thing with a cheap grey primer/spray paint afterward?  That would give you the texture you are used to and the color you want.
