Greetings all!
I haven't found a clear answer in Total Warfare about this yet: if a Mech engages its MASC while suffering from heat-induced movement penalties, is the final Running MP based on the current (reduced) Walking MP or the original (standard) Walking MP?
TW p53 (Ground Movement) states that Running MP is always based on *current* Walking MP.
TW p137 (Combat) states that if the MASC system activates, the Mech can Run at double its *standard* Walking MP.
TW p159 (Heat) states that Running MP is based on *current* (heat-affected) Walking MP.
So, for example, an overheated MCY-99 Mercury [standard speed 8/12] with 12 Heat Points [-2 MP] has a current speed of 6/9. If it engages its MASC system successfully, does it move this turn at 6/9 (12) or 6/9 (16)?
