On Total Warfare page 303 and 304 the cross footnote for LB-X weapons say that aerospace units always apply the -1 To-Hit modifier. This coincides with the Special Munitions rule on page 238 and Cluster Ammunition rule on page 141.
On page 245, it gives an example of an aerospace unit using Pulse Lasers, LB-X, SRM, and regular lasers in a Striking Attack. However, there seems to be an error.
"The modified to-hit number against the ’Mech is 7 for the four pulse lasers and 9 for all other weapons (4 (base to-hit number) + 2 (striking attack) +2 (’Mech’s movement) +1 (light woods) –2 (pulse weapon modifier only) = 7 and 9)."
It seems that the Pulse Lasers are getting their -2 To-Hit modifier, but the LB-X is not. If it did, a note for "The modified to-hit number against the 'Mech is 7 for the four pulse lasers, 8 for the LB-X autocannon, and 9 for all other weapons", "-1 (LB-X weapon modifier)", and a "7, 8, and 9", would all be present (changes noted in italics).
Is this an error in the example, or are LB-X weapons not able to use their To-Hit modifier like Pulse Lasers are while Aerospace units are making a Striking Attack, with no note to that loss?
