(Answered) CASE in Center Torso?

I've just started designing some custom mechs again in Heavy Metal Pro and I noticed that I have the option to put CASE into the center torso (IS lvl 2 design). What purpose does this serve? Is this useful for saving the pilot and engine if ammo explodes in the LT or RT? Can it stop an ammo explosion within the CT from transferring to the Head/cockpit? Or can it also function as a barrier from ammo exploding in the torsos and limbs?

On that note, Clan CASE is interwoven throughout the 'mech, right? Does this mean it will stop an ammo explosion in a limb before it reaches the LT or RT?

Your first question was quite the raging debate for awhile. Technically, on a TW level, it does nothing. I believe the consensus was that your pilot wouldn't be killed from the destruction of the CT by ammo explosion though.
