(Answered) Thunderbolt Missiles and TAG

Someone asked this in a FB Group.  I checked my PDFs of both TW (9th printing), Tac Ops (the 2008, All-In One book), and both of the newer TacOps books.  Nothing is Crystal Clear that I could find.   

Can you use TAG with Thunderbolt Missiles?   


The BEST I found was on page 347 of the 2008 PDF of TacOps.   

"Thunderbolt Missile Launchers only use standard Thunderbolt ammunition, and do not benefit from missile enhancement systems such as Artemis and Narc."

Notice that TAG isn't mentioned AT ALL.  No "Yes, you can!" OR "No, you can't!" that I can tell.

No.  The only missiles that benefit from TAG are semi-guided LRMs and Arrow IV Homing Rounds.  SRM, MRM, ATM, and iATM rounds likewise do not benefit from TAG.  Nor do any other LRM rounds besides Semi-Guided.  If an interaction between TAG and Thunderbolt rounds existed, it would be detailed in the Thunderbolt Launcher's rules.

The only interaction lies in the fact that TAG can be used to spot for conventional IDF, and T-bolts can be fired that way.

I was thinking the same thing, the rules don't Expressly SAY the Thunderbolt Missiles can use TAG, while the Rules for TAG pretty well spell out Which other equipment CAN use it.
