(Answered) Damage vs conventional infantry - why less damage with Battle Armor?

Hey,

i was just flipping through the last edition of TW (love the Atlas on the front!) and stopped at the table for burst-fire damage vs conventional infantry:

Why do LMGs/MGs/HMGs/Flamers deal less damage against conventional infantry when these weapons are used by Battle Armor compared to Mechs/vehicles/ProtoMechs?
AP Gauss Rifles and Small Pulse Lasers / Micro Pulse Lasers deal the same damage when shot at conventional infantry by Battle Armor/Mechs/vehicles/ProtoMechs.

This is a rules philosophy question rather than a "how does the game work" question, and we don't really do those.

As the idea goes back to at least Total Warfare, you'd probably have to ask Randall.  But I would suspect the answer would simply be "battle armour weapons are weaker".

Thanks for the Feedback. Was just wondering why this separate table existed as it just complicates things when attacking conventional infantry.
