(Answered) Skill improvement and survival

The skill improvement rules (pg. 40-41) specify tracking experience for "each warrior who survives a scenario." I'd interpret this as meaning the warrior himself/herself simply survived (wasn't killed), but the question arose in a game today of whether to include warriors who lost their 'mechs in the scenario as receiving experience and being eligible to receive their side's bonus experience point. As a related side question, does being taken prisoner (after a failed search and rescue check per CO pg. 223) affect the answer?

Thanks, that makes sense to me! One of the other players in my current game is already speculating on which MechWarrior might end up getting the extra experience point -- and I think his leading candidate might be about to join the Dispossessed  :)
