Title: (Answered) TAG spotting for Indirect Fire
Post by: Charistoph on 05 July 2022, 17:46:25
Okay, page 142 of Total Warfare says,
"Successful TAG designation also spots the target for Indirect LRM Fire (see p. 111)..."

Page 111 of Total Warfare says on bullet point 4,
"All standard modifiers for attacker movement and a modifier for the spotter’s movement..."

Now, for units firing with standard LRM munitions (or would otherwise be standard like Artemis missiles) or for non-Copperhead/Homing Artillery firing indirectly at a successfully TAGged unit, which of the following qualifies?

1) Nothing.  TAG is only useful for properly homing ammo like Copperhead and Semi-Guided LRMs.  (Alluding to the next paragraph that a successful To-Hit is designated for TAG-guided ammunition being the rule.)

2) Indirect Fire is spotted for them, but we add in the TAGger's Attacker Movement Modifier along with the shooter's for the shots.

3) The TAG designation IS the spotter (akin to a NARC Beacon), and so only the shooter's Attacker Movement Modifier applies, since we already added it in to get the TAG designation to land.

Answer 2. Attacker and spotter movement modifiers still apply.
