Rule 10 question

Couple of times, even in the official explanation of Rule 10, I've seen people state that only Iron Wind Metals is licensed to produce BattleTech miniatures, and that only IWM miniatures should be posted unless they are clearly stated to be unique kit-bashed designs.

But...I buy most of my miniatures from Ral Partha Europe. I looked into IWM when I first started thinking about assembling and painting some 'Mechs, but the P&P to the UK was always too high. So someone, I can't remember who or where, put me on to Ral Partha, who are here in the UK.

How exactly do they fit into Rule 10?

The key word here should be "licenced".

IWM and RPE are licenced to make BT minis. No-one  has a licence to make MWO minis, or to make imitations or recasts.

I suspected as much, it's just that, every time it's brought up, only IWM is mentioned by name.

Only One now - Toronto Blue Jays, though there was the Montreal Expos for a while (Now the Washington Nationals in DC).

But yeah, bias of majority of players being in North America. I'm 'aware' of RAFM Europe, but never think of it.

IWM and RPE used to be the same company but split years back. That's why there's two companies handing the BT minis, and most of the fanbase is in the US, so IWM gets the most coverage.

29 us teams 1 Canadian. They each play an asinine 162 game regular season about twelve people care about outside of the first and last month. At the end there’s a number of playoff series that determines which team from each 15 team group (in no small part organized in the 1880s and 90s) faces off in a best of seven contest for the world championship that generally only one country attends (the blue jays won a few in the early 90s though I don’t know if they actually had any Canadians on the roster).

I say all of this to say that much like American baseball, it’s easy to get confused about rule 10
