Session Verification Failed?

Got pinged by Chanman, who's getting a Session Verification Failed message when trying to log on after the board maintenance today. He's tried multiple browsers and devices, and has cleared his cache.

Any suggestions on what to try?

I was getting them. Cleared out all cookies. At which point the issue would be server side and I think is fixed now. Sessions on the server needed to be cleared.

I am still experiencing this error, it's been about 8 hours. I've cleared cookies and cache on my end with no success.

Just before I got the "session verification failed" I was sent some sort of Rules update for Sep 2020. After hitting the OK/I accept option, I received the error and have been locked out ever since.

2ndAcr here. Got the same stupid rules update and got locked out, been about 8 hours now. Had to start a new account just to post this. Nothing on my standard account works, get the failed session verification even when trying to change password.

Clearing your Cookies should fix the problem now.

This is weird issue considering how many sites use cookies thus there is always those. So it's kinda difficult situation if you can't log in without removing cookies.

Clearing your cache dumps the old cookie for a new one without having to wait for session inactivity, expiration, etc. You could find the specific forum token and remove it individually, thus sparing all of your other sites, but most people won't have the time or inclination to do so, so a carte blanche cache clear is usually the route to go. If you want to expedite your forum access, clear the cookie and get a cookie.

In Chrome, you can clear individual site cookies by clicking on the icon (shows "lock" for me) before url on the address bar, and then selecting "cookies" from the drop-down menu.

If you could please, I'd like to request that everybody that created a second account because of this, please contact one of the forum admins, to take care of this. We do NOT allow people to set up multiple accounts. I doubt anyone would get warned due to the circumstances, but we still need to clear things up in that regard.

I can say with authority I still had the issue using browsers that I had never used to visit the forums with before and even after clearing cookies and caches on the one I had.

So yeah.  It works now.  Shennanigans.

Had problems logging on, got it straightened out.  Whatever it was, it's fixed.  I would've flushed the cookie cache, but since this is the first time logging onto this computer, I wasn't sure what was goofing it up.  Whoever fixed the problem, thanks.
