DG's Ostroc unseen
« on: 14 July 2012, 08:55:59 »
And once more I's paint a striped mini. This time for a cavalry company 5/8:

Small changes list:
Thicker barrels, sticking-out missle tips, widened arm-sockets
Beefed hips, and additional flat kneecaps as place for emblems

Small joke on a back:  ;)

The next one will be Thunderbolt-9NAIS, bashed from 20-993

I like the way you use small changes to improve the overall look of known miniatures.
That is a great Ostroc that still looks familiar, while it is simply better than usual.

you can take a normally ugly machine (of course I always love the Osts) and make them look like something I want to pilot! Your small changes always make the biggest differences in the most subtle ways. Jealous of your talent, but I appreciate you sharing :)

I see the wings, but I guess I don't get the joke. It's beautiful, though, as I said. :)

See the "smiley face" on the back? That 'Mech's nickname better be "Red Bull" ;)

The added missles make it look like a toy, not a mini of a mech IMO.

The other additions are mostly "meh" or unnecessary as the Ral Partha Ostroc is perfection.   :-\

I didn't even notice the wings but did see the face like carving in the back. Anyway what a great job.

It's beautifully done - changes subtle enough to be nearly unnoticeable.  I also love how you based the mech.

Bravo!
