Haven’t watched the episode yet, but almost can’t believe that of all the things they could have brought from the comics, they chose THAT!?!?!?

(Edit: ok, I must have missed it. Where was it?)

However, I highly recommend watching the Simpsons: the Good, the Bart and the Loki short. Extremely funny!

It was just as they were entering the hatch.

Really enjoyed this weeks episode, sets up the finale nicely.

So many little things in that episode. The whole planet was filled with fun tidbits and whatnots.
Like the little person in the jar in the ground as they go down into the bunker. That was Thor - wasn't it? And a version of Mjølnir besides it?

It's  ot terribly significant, historically speaking. She was just a DE doing her job escorting convoys to North Africa and Southern Europe.

Was just wondering if she showed up in any of Marvel's very many WWII comics from back in the day or something.

I forget, what's the hull number?

DE-173. Allegedly it was involved in the mythical Philadelphia Experiment.

Yeah, it was the USS Eldridge, long famed (well, since 1955) as the ship on which they conducted cloaking device trials (aka, the Philadelphia Experiment) to render ships invisible to the enemy back in 1943.

There's a Polybius arcade machine behind Old Loki in the hideout too, it's from an 80s urban legend

Yeeeah, may have paused to check the hull number, got lost reading up on the Philadelphia Experiment, gone down a whole rabbit hole of UFO/conspiracy theory reading, and forgot to finish the episode for two hours...  ;D

I’m sad I have to delay this episode a little bit longer. I have the Tour de France and then the Lions tour rugby match to watch before hand. This one sounds exciting tho

I did see a great YouTube theory for Sylvie’s variation. What if in that moment in the flashback, playing with the Valkyrie toy, she made the choice to be a hero? And that was simply way too off the Loki path to be allowed to exist.

Wow, so Chrono Trigger basically does exist.

By the way, is there a known (Marvel) significance to the appearance of the mansion in the midst of the cloud at the end? It looks like a cross between Skyfall and Barad Dur.

Have to admit, I think my favourite part of this episode was the rant when Loki is trying to get the others to explain what's going on.

Favourite line: "Which I'm heartbroken to announce I don't even find all that strange!"

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybius_(urban_legend)

Basically people were claiming Polybius was an arcade machine that was trialled in Portland for a few months in 1981 - it allegedly was physically addictive and men in black were seen checking the machines before they vanished.

This one (I assume) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybius_(urban_legend)
For some reason, the forum software refuses to parse the close parenthesis, so the link appears broken.  My attempts to fix it have failed, so the solution is to copy the url (including the close parenthesis) and paste that into your browser.

You need to use BB code to explicitly enclose the entire url. So [ url ] [ / url] or use the hyperlink button on the edit screen. It'll give you this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polybius_(urban_legend)

I tried throwing the proper URL into a URL tag around some other text, and it gave me a different error.  Probably something very particular in the BB code...

So, now I'm imagining people boxing up Overlords for loading as cargo.  "Nope, totally not a DropShip.  Everyone knows you can't fit a DropShip in a WarShip!  It's...a ten thousand ton box of marshmallows!  Yeah.  For the Heavy Guards big annual smores party."
