This is an 80 ton Warhammer meant to fulfill the true role of an assault... in/around 2750.

Overview:
With the success of the Warhammer in 2515, StarCorps engineers were laying out
new plans for an upgraded version of the Warhammer. Idealy this version was
meant to be a true assault platform capable of taking on larger Mechs for its
own size. Though the program initiated would be put on and off in between the
years as technology was improved or available.


Capabilities:
With the WHM-6Rs in full production, engineers at StarCorps began to construct
a new and heavier Warhammer. The weapons of the heavier Warhammer would still
carry twin Donal PPCs but instead of the dual machine guns and small lasers, it
would have a total of five medium lasers. Two are placed in the left and right
torso, while the other is mounted in the head. It also mounts the standard
Holly SRM 6 tube launcher. This version, dubbed 06R, also utilizes cellular
ammunition storage equipment to protect the SRM ammo. The engineers gave the
new Warhammer a full spread near max armor increasing the protection by 24%.
But the one thing that seriously lacked was heat dissipation. With only 14
heatsinks, the new Warhammer wasnt any better the WHM-6R. The project would
soon come to a halt.


For nearly 50 years StarCorps engineers hoped that one day they could revive
the new Warhammer and bring it to life. One set back was the inefficient use of
heatsinks. The Terran Hegemony approached StarCorps with a solution. An
improved heatsink. The engineers quickly took the new technology and
incorporated it into the machine. The -06R became a fully functional battlemech
without any heat flaws.


A few years later the Terran Hegemony presented StarCorps Industries with a new
type of armor. Lighter but bulkier, this armor was applied all over and
provided full coverage with some extra weight left over. This extra weight went
to adding 1 more improved heatsink.


By then StarCorps Industries was producing the new Warhammer in limited
quantities. Most of them serving in the Star League army.


In the late 2700s, the Terran Hegemony yet again offers StarCorps Industries
another new piece of technology. An extended range particle cannon. Engineers
knew right away this would help bolster the range than that of a standard PPC.
With the new heatsinks in place, the new Warhammer is capable of firing both
with little heat issues.


In the coming years, with the deteriation of the Star League following the
Succession Wars, the new Warhammer fell victim to extinction. Key plants would
be destroyed and parts for the advanced equipment became scarce, these new
machines would be forgotten.

The Thug is already canon... ^-^ I mean, the only noticeable difference is that you've replaced one SRM6 with a bunch of MLs.

The LRM5 is as close as I could get to the Robotech original's rack of "heavy long-range missiles", the SRM6s are mounted under the chest panels.

I thought "Thug" as well. Perhaps do it on the original 70 ton frame? Or up the speed to 5/8. Two ER PPCS's and 16 double heat sinks make for a nice base chassis!

I think it's meant to be a bridge between the normal Whammy and the IIC. Honestly it runs a bit hot for my taste, but it's still pretty decent.
