None of the guesses about the surprise (sigh) Salvage Box are correct yet.

I'd still want a VP-1 Viper.  And an Orca ...

But my new wild arse guess -- A Leviathan III warship!

I think it might be the Blood Reaper. Why else would it be in Rec Guide 33?

I'm closer to Cubby on that (secret bad, let me plan hour to spend my money please) but I do still want whatever this thing is.   I think I'd be most disappointed by LAMs, which in my ideal future would finally die the quiet death they've been putting of for 30 years.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

No surprise that my guess was wrong.  That's just par for the course for me...

Seems like a reasonable guess.

Please don't tease me for Warships.

I was considering it, but since you asked nicely I will place my $0.00 bet on fancied up infantry tokens.

We haven't seen it, and I don't think it's been guessed.

A second guess might be fancy terrain, like a plastic building 1-3 levels high and 1-2 (map sized) hexes wide.

I would assume the Blood Reaper got updated looks and stats because Star Colonel Othar pilots one, and is probably a featured pilot in BattleTech Legends II.
Same with the Gyrfalcon and Khan Jiyi Chistu.
Given how faction specific mechs these are, they feel unlikely as salvage box material. Though i grant the Blood Asp is also rather limited and it got a salvage box.

Also inclined to think the Blood Reaper will more likely be featured in a Wolf faction force pack, should we get such.

EDIT Personally hope for the Hellcat (Hellhound II), since the Viper got ruled out (was my first hope).

Jiyi I could maybe see a case for (though I'd rather see Noritomo Helmer for the Gyrfalcon), but are we really scraping the bottom of the barrel of notable MechWarriors that we'd have to trot out Othar for Legends II? Also, I don't think he even pilots that Blood Reaper anymore; he lost it in Redemption Rites.

Why would Othar be the bottom of the barrel? He is ruling the Wolf Empire, making him an important figure in the IlClan era.
Not saying he is in or not, but that seems an odd way to look at him.

Well, the Empire makes more of Blood Reapers, losing one shouldn't be a big deal. And many pilots have piloted different mechs in their careers. I don't think a pilot's current mech matters for which gets featured in Legends. Aris Sung's initial Stinger was featured rather than the Wraith he is far more famous for, and Phelan moved to different mech later on in his career yet his Wolfhound was featured.

As for the notable pilots in the book, Legends I had pilots like Damien Lucille "Lucifer" (only featured in very limited amount of fiction), Katherine Steiner-Davion (despite being anything but a mechwarrior really), and new characters we haven't seen in action at all like Trenton Marik.
Othar as the Wolf Empire's leader is a notable person and a mechwarrior, and will most likely have a large role to play in the future, so i see him as a very likely candidate for Legends II.

I'd love to post up pics of the Crabby Gatty, but because it is very much a King Crab (crossed with the Crabby Patty burger from SpongeBob - complete with 'sesame seeds on top'), it violates RULE 10, and thus folks will need to look it up themselves.
