Great mid season finale, now I am wondering how Dr. West did that if he really is the Yellow Flash?

Unless he has lost his powers somehow.
Plus i liked that Cisco noted the possibility of another speedster fighting over Barry's mom.

Also liked that Catlin's beau (ronnie) is still alive.

I would guess Wells was in two places at once through time travel if he is indeed the reverse Flash, not just working for him.

Also, aren't Tachyons often related to time travel in sci fi?

The question is...if Wells is the reverse Flash, why aren't his wounds healing quickly and how could he be in two places at once?

I was wondering if there was another speedster present at Barry's mom's death with what happened to Barry and with the colors present...

May I present Exhibit A and B: http://imgur.com/a/lT99Q

If you re-watch that scene you'll see him heal. It's a bit subtle, but those wounds disappear... only after he activates the tachyon device.

SO maybe he achieved his goal of light speed, but somehow that sapped his powers.  And he is using Barry to regain them.

Last night the Flash returned with Cold and Heatwave?  And it was awesome.  I didn't recognize Dominic Purcell at all.   And the ending left me as to who is Cold's sister?

Considering that they're willing to take a few liberties to keep comic fans guessing it is possible they're changing the origin of one of the other rogue gallery to be Captain Cold's sister.  Or he could have a sister buried somewhere in the comic lore that is a villain.

He actually has a sister in the comics and she is a villain.

Which I considered a possibility.  I've never real a lot of comic books so I'm no great master of their lore.  Most of what I know stems from the various cartoons and reading the odd wikipedia entry.

I think when I was a kid I only read 1 or 2 Flash comics so I am in the same boat with you.

This is going to be an interesting season

Golden Glider.

And we're getting Trickster and the second Weather Wizard as well.

And there's always Grodd waiting in the wings! GRODD!!!

I was thinking about Wells and the Reverse Flash. My guess is that he'll end up being a combination of Eobard Thawne and Hunter Zolomon from the comics. From the former, he'll get the time-traveling origin; from the latter, the desire to make Flash a better hero. I think its ties into the initial view we got of that future newspaper, where a headline says the Flash vanishes during a red sky crisis. Clearly, a nod to the Crisis on Infinite Earths and Barry Allen's death during that event, but I think Wells has come back from the future to make Barry a better hero so he doesn't vanish (and presumably die) in the crisis but is able to save the planet or whatever.

As someone who is a Purcell fan, i recognized him after 4 minutes or so (I was ashamed it took that long).
But it was a damn good comeback episode!

Joe and Barry's bonding moments are awesome.

Barry: "You know this does nothing for me..."
Joe: "Just drink it."

The whole episode was pretty good, save for the astounding lack of snipers among Central City's police department. They're in the middle of the street, guys.

Perhaps they were told to NOT interfere, just leave it to the flash?

Too many villains(and heroes) would be in body bags if comic book cops were allowed to act like real cops.

Plus if cops in these shows were more competent, the need FOR these heroes would drop way down.

Well some villains are clearly out of the league of conventional law enforcement so you could still have a superhero show but yeah it'd be pretty different.

I feel very afraid for Joe after this ep. That laugh after Cisco Ramon's comment about "sometimes he's a..." was just hilarious.

So, Wells is charging up and we get to see how manipulative he really is. But man, his house is sweet.

Ahaha, best use of (not so?) subtle music cues goes to Wells' choice of at-home listening.

I really dug this version of Pied Piper. But then, I'm a sucker for sound-based villains anyway. (Of course, IMO, the way his attacks were portrayed would have worked better for Cisco's inevitable reinvention as Vibe, but okay.)

Did I miss something or did they not explain why Hartley had hearing aids in the first place? He didn't appear to have any hearing difficulties in the flashbacks. Are we supposed to assume that was caused by the reactor explosion?

I didn't much care about peoples' complaints about the cops last week, but this week did get to me. CCPD was fine with Flash taking Hartley away like that? Where did they think he was taking him? Why didn't he go into regular lockup like Captain Cold and Heatwave last week? He has no powers, just sound gauntlets. Did Barry tell them "No, it's cool, I got my own superjail!" Seemed inconsistent and done just for the sake of the villain's plans playing out.

Great news about Felicity and Ray coming to Central City in episode 18 except that it sort of implies that Ray hasn't yet suited up as the Atom, which I'm getting antsy for.

Sholey Hit batman.  What an ep.  Personally the Pied piper was rather lackluster for me, but the twists with Joe and eddie investigating wells, and his now being proven to be a speedster kept me interested!

Finally an onscreen full face shot of Doctor Wheels using speed...

And a shot of him LOSING speed...

This is slightly shifted my opinion of who he is.  The earlier idea in this thread of him being a future Flash come back to train Flash up seems like a good idea.  I mean.  Barry is shown as being a very smart kid, and his list of who his "dad" had to compete with was telling.  I could see a kid that smart turning into someone as smart as Doctor Wheels.

There's also the tried and true "Reverse Flash" origins...

But then adding in Eddie and who he is in comics....I don't know.

They are doing a good job of keeping their options open and keeping me from knowing WHERE they are going.

One thing I do love about Doctor Wheels so far is that he SEEMS to be on Barry's side.  Or at least on the side of Barry learning how to use his abilities.  And I think we finally know why.  Doctor Wheels need help.

And the revelation that Doctor Wheels really IS crippled in some way was a surprise to me.  They did that well.

In short.  I love this series.  So much more lighthearted than Arrow and something I can watch with the family.  And the humor is fun.  I love rooting for the heroes.  And I love finding out all these little bits about Doctor Wheels.  :)  He is an onion, and it will hurt to reveal all his layers I think...
