Who is this 'Dave' of which you speak, and how do I woo him into making 1/2 variant arms with little laser barrels and a 'clean' torso? Does he, perhaps, like beer?
Oh, and thanks for the info on the Mongoose. I was disappointed when it didn't make the fan-funding list and I'm glad to see it will make it into metal after all. What sort of arm connections are you doing with the little guy? Post/Hole? Ball/Socket? Flat surface with a locating bump/pin?
Summers; he's far less active now, but you may remember pieces like the resculpted Huron Warrior and Battle Hawk. I can't speak for what may motivate him, though I will also note that the variant choice was a directive and not his call.
Post and hole is what's working out. Those extra shoulder plates need to fit tight to look right. To get the flexibility for a ball and socket you need space for the joint to move, and that's the conflict here. I like to strike a balance between ease of assembly and giving the player options when building. Sometimes that works out, sometimes it doesn't. With a small mini, keeping the number of parts down is a priority.
Speck said a while ago that there could be a few BAs in the pipeline soon. Does anyone have an answer to my question above?
There is interest by an individual who wishes to fund some BA. I have no information beyond that.
Thanks Dave Psycho. Please make the head better. The single piece with torso with no neck just looks....tired.
No problem. When tasked with sculpting a mini, I have to work with the art and direction that's provided; the Mongoose's head is not one that's meant to articulate. Any changes going from provided artwork to the mini are discussed beforehand among the QC group. I'm not at liberty to make changes based on outside input. Your opinion is valid, but so is the next person's. To avoid being caught up with opposing viewpoints, I've got to stick with what Brent and co. say.
