I'm unsure of what point you're trying to make.
Sony and company have taken the loony critics and held them up as the mainstream and then labeled all critics with some kind of -ist or -ism.  Any more depth than that and I will run screaming though a couple of rules.

But that wasn't who Blaine was talking about.  He was talking about the people who were saying that the movie was [destroying precious childhood memories] before we even had the cast list announced.  There were a lot of them and they were and continue to be quite vocal.

Masters and Minions was a blast this year, wasn't it?  I was hoping to go up against Charlie Tango or you, but ended up against Goober from the pods instead.  Would have asked you to sign my copy of Betrayal (and Highlander Gambit), but you looked pretty busy before the game started and tired afterword and I figured that since I'd already gotten Imputes of War (AKA my favorite Battletech novel ever and the book that got me hooked on Battletech) signed the last time I was at GenCon, it wasn't really a priority.

Any idea how big the ship figures were for that Star Trek Ascension game? And, how many figure types did they have?

Based on a video preview from Team Covenant they're pretty small, and it's just Galaxy, Vor'Cha and D'Deridex classes, but there's two versions of each for individual ships and fleets (basically the same but on a plinth)

Brings back memories of my first job and the number of hoops they'd jump through to avoid paying overtime (like having you work 10 to 12 hours one day, then sending you home after 1 the next) or keep you from becoming a full time employee (and thus entitled to benefits).

I worked for a large soup company that shall remain nameless. It wasn't Campbell though and it actively fought employees on every turn. Any mistake was a write up, staying on break a extra five minutes was a write up. Even coming in early was grounds for write ups or even being fired and I won't even get into the long hours and the outright disrespect that came down from on high. Anything goes wrong it was automatically the workers fault even if they protested before hand.  Everything was about saving on costs and if you had a idea and pitched it, it was a guarantee some college grad would claim it as there own than see you were fired to keep it for themselves. They maintained skeleton shifts and couldn't understand why we were all so stressed all the time, because we were doing two peoples jobs at once. That was another point, if you lacked a college degree there was no possibility of advancement because every job that was white collar automatically came with a college degree requirement even if you had been already doing it or had years of experience. And the fun part? they couldn't understand why morale was low all the time.
I don't set an example for others. I make examples of them.

That "senior leader" you quote doesn't deserve either description.  If you're doing everything the company asks and more, what business is it of theirs what you do aside from that?

Just because he doesn't deserve them certainly doesn't take either away from him.  They exist in the military too, but the good news is the pain doesn't last there.  Somebody has to transfer sooner or later.

The only caution I have for Sully - in order to create drama the attitudes of the investigators were changed from how they were in real life. Changed so much that their names were changed in the movie. In real life there was no drama.

Well, an accurate-to-real-life version of Sully would be about 20 minutes long, with 4 minutes of excitement.

Yeah, I seem to recall that while the full report took some time (because they always do), the fact that everyone's stories matched up with the flight data recorder and the physical evidence meant there was no real question as to what had happened. I do recall there was some debate over whether the aircraft could've returned to LGA, but checking online it appears the FAA and NTSB concluded that it would've required foreknowledge of the event and unrealistic actions on the part of the crew, and even then only had a 50% chance of success.

That said, this is the second hagiography Clint Eastwood has made in a row, with American Sniper being one of the worst films I've seen in some time. I am concerned that he is falling into making propaganda rather than trying to share interesting stories.

I had this as a ten minute movie.  It takes a while after the load the passengers to get going you know.
