Clan Chatterweb / Re: Clan Nova Cat - Zombie Catgirl Extravaganza

Did the Nova Cats successfully introduce the Nova Cat (the kitty, not the machine) to the worlds that they inhabited in the Combine?  I doubt it's ever been addressed, but that's a clan thing to do is introduce the totem to new places.

But what say you, trothkin

2900 to 3025 has a ton of potential for compelling stories and scenarios.  It's loved for a reason.

My take.  12 mechs instead of 10, but all Capellan designs/variants.  Favored armor and energy weapons where possible for multi-scenario survivability.  Fire Lance can throw 120 LRMs per turn, indirectly with spotting from the Ravens, if needed.  Alternately, the EW Equipment on the Ravens can hide the Command Lance for ambushes or flush out enemy ambushes.

Command Lance
Highlander -733P, 1801
Marauder -3L, 1363
Cataphract -2X, 1344
Guillotine -4L, 1400

Fire Lance
Catapult -C1, 1339
Catapult -C1, 1339
Catapult -C1, 1339
Catapult -C1, 1339

Recon Lance
Vindicator -1R, 1024
Raven -1X, 639
Vindicator -1R, 1024
Raven -1X, 639

Total BV2: 14590

Alpha Strike / Re: 'Mech destroyed result-then what?

Thanks, y'all! Even though it doesn't make an in-game difference, I think I will leave destroyed mechs on the board with some white cotton smoke, or replace them with kitbashed wreckage.

A Time of War / Re: Tips for GM-ing?

I'm currently learning the AToW rules and was wondering if anybody could give me some tips (the Do and don't do's)
on being a Game Master.

After every session ask three questions:

1) What did you like?
2) What did you dislike?
3) What do you want to see more of?

This way you get feedback from your players and can adjust for your next session.  If you are sneaky you can put down cards for each player listing what each of them are enjoying so you can give them their own fun in turn.

Try to have two different plans for the night.  This way if some players are out for the night suddenly, you can still run something that the remaining players will enjoy.  I.e. if you have a mix of murderhobos and political players and the murderhobos are not able to show up, then pull out your Agathie Christie and Poirot to get a good political side-story.  This way the political enjoyers can work to have extra materials for the next session when the murderhobos are meeting their opposites.

Copperhead Road -- Steve Earle (watch The Wire if you haven't already)

Good song.  Very Celtic.  In Music and in subject matter.  Many an Irish and Scotsman was labeled an outlaw - some justly and some unjustly.

I can play this on my guitar but it's missing something without the bagpipes!

More of a tech rather than a Quirk, and mainly for CASPAR setups:

Onboard Limited Self-repair:
1) Figure the mass of an Unpressurized Repair Bay that is large enough to repair the vessel.
2) Add 25% of that mass to reflect an ARTS augmentation
3) That is the total mass needed for a basic self-repair ability.

Example:
Assume a 1 million ton CASPAR unit.

1) An unpressurized Repair Bay large enough to hold a 1 million ton Warship will mass 25 ktons (2.5%)
2) ARTS will increase those 25 ktons by another 25% (25,000 * 0.25 = 6,250 tons)
3) The sum is 25,000 + 6,250 = 31,250 tons

Essentially you pay 3.125% of the mounting vessel's mass and you get limited self-repair ability.

Note that this mass allocation is just for the repair equipment.  You still need the repair parts to do the actual work, and hopefully the computer was programmed with the necessary information.

(Got the idea from Starfire where one of the random events is a Berserker waking up.  It has self-repair and small craft/ordnance construction abilities, in addition to being able to multi-target easily)
