Going to joggle the elbow . . . I see the new box set record sheets on the site DL page, but I do not yet see the link for the cut outs.

I am enjoying Forever Faithful, I think its interesting and knowing the author's interest in history I am surprised that it includes some recent history as a perspective.

Doh! This is what happens when I don't write things down. I'll see about checking that off tonight. Thanks for the reminder!

The terrain cutouts? The RS book has cutouts in the back as well

Any word on that Capital Punishment PoD book or TRO Clan Invasion?

A good chunk of the conversation regarding record sheets and nominee resculpts has been broken off into it's own thread.

This was from a May 2018 post about Box Set preview content: https://bg.battletech.com/news/box-set-preview-content/.

I got caught up in an after-hours meeting yesterday, but will start the ball rolling on this today.

Man, I can relate. Those meetings kill me.

Cubby, can you comment on the possibility of getting other PDF-only products as POD? Does the performance of the POD novels affect this decision? It'd be awesome if I could get all the XTROs in one handy book. And apologies if this question was already mentioned elsewhere.

Thanks!

I don't have any specific information, other than to say that the idea is still in the water supply.

My sense is that it's primarily an issue of personnel bandwidth, and other new products taking precedence. I don't think the performance of POD novels affects the desire or ability to do sourcebook POD one way or the other. They're mostly separate concepts and lines of business, as far as I know.

The idea of doing XTROs in POD has come up frequently, it's a fairly obvious target for POD. But there's an additional issue with those in that DriveThruRPG didn't even support landscape orientation POD until last year, and my understanding is that the format is not cheap. Re-laying out an XTRO to portrait orientation just for POD is probably not feasible from an economic or bandwidth perspective.

New Turning Points Release Dates, House Arano Update

Three new Turning Points are scheduled for release in March and April, leading up to the much-anticipated House Arano sourcebook. Mark your calendars for:

Operational Turning Points: Fronc Reaches - March 15
Turning Points: Tokasha - March 29
Turning Points: Vega (3039) - April 12
House Arano: The Aurigan Coalition - April 26

The release date for House Arano has been adjusted due to the need for additional development time, and key personnel working on other products set for later this year. Thank you for your understanding as we keep multiple projects on track and ensure a steady stream of new BattleTech product for the game's 35th Anniversary year.

Check out all the Coming Releases here.

it was never advertised as PoD i don't think

the only pdf to PoD advertised on the coming releases was Capital Punishment, which is a compilation of the Jihad Turning Points set on the house capital planets.

As mentioned in the previous Upcoming Releases thread (dated 11/27/18)...
Quote
Step into the Aurigan Coalition in this Print-on-Demand and PDF product which brings the setting of the hit PC strategy game BattleTech into the long-running tabletop experience. Learn the proud history of the Coalition and its hope for the future, then take up the defense of the Arano dynasty with four all-new scenarios picking up where the game left off. "House Arano: The Aurigan Coalition" is authored by Harebrained Schemes' Andrew McIntosh and Kiva Maginn, writers and developers of the BattleTech PC game.
(bolding mine)
If the PoD isn't gonna happen, I'm disappointed. I actually wanted a physical copy to go along with the couple of House Sourcebooks I have from back in the day.

Still POD as far as I know. None of the project parameters have changed, just the timing.

so uh. time for some only mostly baseless speculation.

1) CGL does not generally produce art without a product to put it in (or at least this was their stated policy per Ray the last time the subject came up here)
2) Mr. Scroggins has been previewing his redesigns of classic clan omnis (three so far) and the orion on his patreon page. The cover of forever faithful has a sleeker looking mad cat.
3) The proposed clan box was shelved several years ago with most of the work done
4) TRO: Clan Invasion is coming Soon™
5)

which has a 3D model printed apparently . . . I am not sure the Shadow Cat needed it, but its a popular video game design and the redone art looks more like MW4 than the TRO art.

EDIT: Or maybe I didn't check until after Cubby already fixed it....

Those look really great.

I hope if they re-do the Blackhawk they keep the Leg-Shoulders for no torso-twist. It's a very cool and distinct design and I'd hate to see it go.

That Fronc Reaches product really looks interesting!
