I want to find out if all of the warship fans would like to see warship fleet packs available as a online exclusive like the mech packs. This idea came to me when I was reading through the Liberation of Terra Vol 1 about the SLDF squadron types. This packs would be just warships.

If the desire is strong enough I will propose it to Mike for approval.

I votes yes - even while most nations will not field enough warships for a pack.
So maybe it is possible to bring a pack for that nations with warships and some assault dropships.

Remember that this is inspired by LOT, an era when many nations supplemented their fleets with older Terran ships. A good Davion fleet pack could include a 2750 Aegis, 2750 Congress, Whirlwind/Davion I (or Davion II when that gets financed), Robinson, and Vigilant, for example.

Realisticly, there going be problem with Warship Packs. We don't know much about how the Squadrons for them were like per nation. Reunification War gave us glimmer into them, with Taurians having Wagon Wheels, Darts, Concordats, and (undergunned) Winchesters (oh My!).

Maybe Lot2 will give us better idea how and what fleets will be like in SL Civil War.

Warship fleet packs are going down right expensive too...things were nearly 15 bucks a pop each large ship.

I love warships, i wish Battletech Universe' wasn't so geared to exterminate them.

I imagine that for the non-Terran/SL navies, you could create squadrons that just give a selection of their navy as a whole, giving players a core to build their fleet around. Once you have that fleet, you can buy more single ships of the classes you want or suit your play style, while the fleet pack was your introduction to that fleet. Kinda like buying an Introductory Box, deciding you really like Whitworths and Commandos, and buying more of those 'mechs while you still have the other intro mechs to flesh out your games.

The Initial packs will only be SLDF and RWR, since they are the big forces in LoT. Other nations will come later.

I'd love to know your sources for RWR fleets, since we currently have no data, save for a bunch of Pintos. I assume you're coordinating with CGL for that info, and mere players will see it later?

For RWR packs will have some pintos and then the rest will be older ships. In LoT vol 1 in the RWR navy section it says they got a bunch of old hulls from the star league that Richard gave the okay on. So I will look at the older warships that they phased out and one or two ships they captured after the coup .

I saw that part. I guess I'm just wanting to see if the older ships you choose will be the same older ships Catalyst chooses.

To be fair, I'll probably buy the packs regardless of which ones they are. Any pack that nets me multiple Pintos, Vigilants, or 2750 Vincents is a win for me. O0

I just hope the harder to assemble ships are made little easier for the Fleet packs. Avatar, Texas 2750 warships have soo many long stringy items that its difficult to store them never mind killing myself to build them.

I leave those long bits off my Avatars. Much ike other ships illustrated with clusters of antennae, I consider them optional. If I want to do a high-detial ship with them, I use cut up staples, or something else that's reasonably tough. I don't have a 2750 Texas yet(:'(), but if it has bits like that as you say, I'll follow the same pattern.

I would definitely buy an aerospace warship/dropship/fighter introductory box set. But I assume that's not what we're taking about. Still I've wanted to do some small aerospace skirmishes (fleet scale) but have been too intimidated.

I am undecided about adding dropships and fighters. If I do it will just be a few of them. I will make the adjustments to the packs I have in line to add a few.

There will be more then one, I have to modify my spread sheet for qty to take into account the fighters. Min will be 6 of each.

Cool. The SLDF squadron would probably be better renamed 'cruiser squadron', but aside from that, it's pretty nice*. I'm definitely in for any pack that gives me more Pintos and Vigilants.

*Fully a third of those ships are completely unsuited for orbital fire support.

The warship squadron packs are bases on the squadron types listed in liberation of terra. The ships in the above sldf pack were mentioned in the write up for that squadron

A squadron is listed having at least six warships, so I did that as a min. As for price it is total of all minis in pack at 20% off total.

The warship packs are up for Liberation of Terra. Just a general note, I made use of the Lola I/II in some of the packs since the Lola III miniature is of the 3057 version.

Wow, just noticed these were out today, course i noticed only 5 minutes after I placed a order with IWM's. Hopefully these will be a month or two so I can place an order dedicated to warships in the future.

A little bit of errata needed...IWM has a mini for the Riga frigate, not the Riga destroyer/carrier, which is as yet without stats, image, or mini. The frigate is a much older vessel, long out of production or SLDF service by the 2750 timeframe of these fleets.

The name of the miniature is corrected, I had it labeled wrong. The mini is the Riga Frigate.

I think the bigger problem is, that the missing Riga II Class DD/CV needed. However, isn't the York Class DD/CV basicly the same ship upgrade from its SL version? Riga II became York, thus York could be used as sub. Can't this be clearified by the TPTB?

What clarification is needed? We know the Riga II is the York's ancestor, that it was fielded during the late SL era, and that we do not have stats or image for it. Given how drastically previous refits went(example: Avatar to Liberator), there's really nothing else we can know until we get stats and image for the Riga II.

Oh yes it is, but my main problem is actually sorting out my minis.
Not figuring out where they go mind you, but rather stop myself from talking to them like "this little piggy"
"You'll be part of my merc salvage team"
"You'll go with my Davion pirate forces"
"and you'll go to the Clan navy I'll build later..."
