(Answered) Superheavy Mechs and Movement Rates

The relevant passages in J:FR relating to maximum movement speed of a SHM are somewhat... sparse. Are all superheavies limited to 2/3 MP, or can they achieve 3/5 (or greater?)

*EDIT* and by sparse, I mean

The Engine Rating for a Superheavy ’Mech is computed as normal.
. I'm unsure if we just use the engine ratings found in the Tech Manual or what. Thanks in advance!

I don't post to play nice with everyone. I post to posit my ideas. If this offends you, there's an ignore function.

Hello,

The rule is clear enough. One computes the desired Engine Rating for a Superheavy 'Mech using the standard formula of Tonnage x Desired Walk MP. The Engine Tables then provide the weights for said engines. As with standard BattleMechs, the upper limit on speed is simply the biggest engine you can effectively mount.

Hopefully, that helps.

Yeah it does. Bblaney explained it a little more in his design thread. I just haven't had the time to throw myself into learning the new computations. Work sucks. :(
