The battle was actually pretty great. With a Dragoon company split evenly amongst Heavy and Assault-class 'Mechs with Elite pilots, I was expecting a lot of carnage even though they faced off against twice their number. Ironically, the dice carried the day for the Combine troops as the Dragoon players missed rolls of 6, 7, and 8s all day long. There should've been FAR more dead Snakes on the field, and they took advantage of that fact by closing into short range to even out the TN numbers. It didn't matter that they'd get hit, because now the Combine troops COULD hit back. Here is where their tenacity paid off as combined fire began to take it's toll on the defending Dragoon Mechs in armor and ammo.
By the time we wrapped up and reviewed the sheets, the game actually would even out in destruction rather than the Major Victory for the Dragoons. The Combine reinforcements due to arrive on the board quite possibly would've been too much for the Dragoons to handle and they would've simply slaughtered each other to the man.
