hostile moon environment

Was playing Lord of the Rings with my brother on the Moria wasteland board he made, and we realised it would be a good hostile environment for a battletech match :)
Here's some pics

Can you reposition the map to make it with a mesa in the middle? I ask because I noticed each corner of the map has a raised section to it. By the way, That is just freakin Awesome!

Yes, it's four pieces. You can have it rise up in each corner, or have a hill along two sides with a valley between, or have a big hill in the middle

Where are the buildings from? Scratch made or shop purchased? Do like the look of them.
Thanks in advance.

I recognize the parts in the squarish buildings. They are assembled from parts cast in plaster from
Hirst Arts
molds.

Hirst arts plaster :) Also a couple of odds and ends from pieces sprues of 40k miniatures, to add some techy bits and antennae to them. The mini-nuke reactor was a resin piece I got from a shop somewhere, but can't remember what it was.

Lava beats skull tectonics any day. Even for 28mm gaming. Games Workshop love skulls too much for anyones good.

Impressive lava light. Like the layout. I agree on removing those skulls!
