What the heck is Quillar?

It's mentioned in the warrior series (Stackpole), but it's not described beyond the fact that Riva hates it.

So what is it?  :o

Something out of Stackpole`s twisted mind I suppose. Off the top of your head, is it mentioned in any sourcebook?

If not, no biggy. I'll just make up the details and call it native the Golden Five in Davion space.

Galen Cox's parents are said to be quillar farmers in Masters and Minions. There's a brief mention of the versatility of quillar in MechWarrior, 3ed (also its reprint as the CBTRPG).
