Do you also have issues protecting your proper Lyran Wall of Steel from all those annoying enemy flankers due to all those iHGRs, GRs, LRMs etc and the resulting lack of proper pulse armament?

Hm... seems like I even commented on the design back then. Must have slipped my mind. But what do they say? Brilliant minds think equal? :P

edit: The Mimetic armor approach seems actually preferable.

Yep, Mimetic + DWPs are a perfect match. DWPs mean slow suits and have a minimal slot requirement. Mimetic requires slow movement to work well and has a high slot requirement, leaving little space for weapons.

Agreed.
Didn't "see" the mimetic option for this suit because I started with the weapons and quipment before I thought about armor. Strange, with assault suits my first thought generally is "Mimetic armor viable?"
For some weird reason that initial thought seems to be limited to assault suits. :P

Well, I first thought about a 'Bazooka Design' with a single heavy weapon, or maybe it was just about packing the heaviest available weapon into the smallest suit possible.^^
Then when I actually set out to do it, clamps came next, because why a heavy if no transport?
I really like blakist equipment, so "Is Mimetic viable" is a question I ask with every possible design, including Lights.^^
Then again, setting out to build a suit that is centered around a 900 kg Blakist weapon, the armor kinda comes naturally. ;)
Btw, it also works great with the clamps, because of the movement rules.
The Anti-BA variant is also great, though overall, it's really a design to fit FWl or Republic better, what with blakist weaponry, David Gauss Rifles, and not being a Quad.
