How was Casino Royale, which was when Bond just reciebed "00" status, more in the future than Dr No where he was a vetran agent? :-P

"James Bond" is either a code-name that's been possessed by multiple agents, or else it was a reboot of the series.

I saw Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.

I was a fan of the original movies, but this is a quality reboot.

Caught 2 good films last night. First up was Jersey boys. A damn good film from the mind of Clint Eastwood. Man does he know how to do a great film!
I loved the acting and singing best of all. And even though it was a minor role of sorts, Walken was great!

2nd up was Into the Storm. While initially i was skeptical cause of it using the "Found footage motiff", they actually made it work. And i LOVED the visual effects of the storms, especially when it hit the airport! O0 O0 O0
Though it made me wonder.. Where the heck would all those people in that airport have gone to, for safety? Do they have big basement storm shelters? And why was the school using only an inner corridor as it's storm shelter!?!?

Did you see the graveyard scene in Skyfall?  Did you notice the names on the gravestone?  That can't be a codename, it mjst be hus real name

Thus, there is only one explanation.  James Bond....is a Time Lord

Didn't actually see Skyfall.  I really don't enjoy Bond movies anymore: they're just too... repetitive?  Not sure that's exactly the word I'm looking for but it'll do.

I'd love to see a film where bond goes against Jack reacher, Jason Bourne, Aaron cross, and Ethan hunt.  Though since Tom Cruse plays both Jack Reacher and Ethan hunt, i am not sure who we could get to sub in for him!

Which Bond?  Heh.  (I am partial to David Niven myself...)

Craig.  Connery is imo too old to do much of the physical stuff.  Same with Moore and Dalton.  Not so sure on Brosnan.

I just watched Bounty Killer. Freakin' hilarious!

Finished off a rewatch of all the Connery bond flicks.  Man it was fun reseeing some of the old films.  Got the Moore ones to see tomorrow.

Also used a coupon from Redbox to get The November man (with Brosnan) and Left behind (with cage).

I loved the November man, but i never got why his 'protoge' turned on his superior like that, especially after Brosnan sliced his GF's leg up.
As for Left behind, i much preferred the 2000s one to this one with Cage, though i did like some of the acting in the plane.

My one major complaint about Guardians of the Galaxy was Gamora.  She started out as this tough, powerful assassin but the longer the movie went on the more she turned into a generic female romantic interest.  I was honestly starting to expect Ronan to incapacitate her via the standard female grab area in order to force Quill to rescue her at the movie's climax.

Otherwise good, but that part just bothered me.

Just saw Guardians of the Galaxy. Great movie.

Just finished watching it as well, highly enjoyable.  Also watched most of the special features on the blue-ray.

Sweet, merciful Cthulhu.  I just sat through Divergent.  I think my dauntless fear test thingie would be having to sit through the next movie in the series.

I think I'll fire up original Tron now as I climb into bed.

"War of the Worlds: Goliath" (yay, Netflix streaming!)

Decent, compelling story, more than a few of the main characters were scenery chewers (Teddy Roosevelt is expected to be this, so he gets a pass). My only other real gripe was that any non-Asian male was built/drawn like he was permanently roided out. Still worth the roughly 90 minutes to watch.

Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie from 90's. I had not seen it since I was kid so it was great to watch it again after so long time. It's light years better than Bay's version and I love how it actually takes elements from original B&W comic book.

The original TMNT movie was surprisingly dark and gritty for a kids movie.

The original TMNT movie was surprisingly dark and gritty for a kids movie.

Original comic book that original movie takes a lot of was not really for kids either. Least not for as young audience that coofy and corny 80's cartoon was targeted towards. In original comic book they were trained to take revenge and they killed Shredder.

Yeah.  The first movie was a mix of the comic book and the cartoon, and honestly I thought that it did a pretty good job appealing to fans of both.  The later movies were based exclusively on the cartoon- you can really tell based on how much the violence was cut down, Raph's character was softened up, and (in 2 especially) how little they actually used their weapons.

Rather than go to a party for NYE, I went on a movie watching binge:

Grosse Pointe Blank - An old favorite of mine, though I actually haven't seen it in about a decade, back when I owned it on VHS!  Such a fun movie, with a great soundtrack. On Netflix.

Jack Reacher - A good popcorn movie, but not much else. On Netflix.

Skyfall - My favorite of the Daniel Craig Bond movies.  Blue-Ray.  On top of everything else, the movie looks stunning in 1080p.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - I picked this up on blue-ray today, I didn't get a chance to see it in the theaters but decided to take a chance.  I really enjoyed it.
