That's assuming they are going to tie this one (and rise) into the one with Whalberg.

Actually, in "Rise"...
...we see the newscast on TV showing the launch of the Icarus. Later in the movie, I believe as they show the "simian flu" spreading, we also see a newspaper headline, "Lost in Space?" which presumably is in reference to the Icarus.

Do you remember when (rough time) that news clip showed the Icarus launching?

Sorry, no; I want to say it's while Caesar is still living with Will and his dad, but don't remember for sure.

LOL.   My brother bought for me as a joke.  Still amusing movie done on shoe string budget and actors were unfortunately really under paided.

Does watching the new Star Wars trailer about 18 times count as watching a movie?

To be honest i can't ever remember seeing that in the past.

But i watched Exodus gods and kings last night, and the first 2 disks (8 eps) of house of cards season 2 tonight.
Exodus was a good film, and i am LOVING house of cards..

Richard Mann did wonders with the landscapes and cinematography. Just an overall well done film.

I watched The Happening for scenes that took place in local areas, only to be confused by the off tone, poor direction, acting and pacing.  What a weird, flop of a movie.

Unbreakable was the last movie Shyamalan made that wasn't a big steaming pile of stupidity.  After that, it's just been a race to the bottom.

Finished Disk 2 of Season 2 of "Babylon 5." No real bad episodes, and "Soul Mates" was particularly entertaining - between Londo's 3 wives, and him taking great glee in giving G'kar headaches...

After earth with both will and Jayden smith, Unbreakable and Last airbender.

Well, I suppose that statistically there had to be someone who actually liked After Earth and Last Airbender.

I've got a copy of Unbreakable and its an interesting variation on the superhero movie that probably does not get as much respect as it deserves.

I've got to agree with popular opinion on the other two, though.   ::)

Agreed.  I especially like the aspects of discovering you are superhuman and not being happy about it.

I'll give him a pseudo pass on After Earth.  From what i've read, that train wreck was already well underway when he got involved.  It is still a bad movie.  But, so much of what I despise about After Earth isn't directorial.  The writing is abysmal.  Will Smith is not acting at the top of his game, but Jaden Smith has never performed well in anything, his own life included.  Those casting decisions were made before Shyamalan stepped onto the set.  If anything, Shyamalan's name being on the movie gives all other parties a scapegoat.

He is producing a show called Wayward Pines that looks like a Twin Peaks knock off.  But, it stars Matt Dillon and Carla Gugino, who are usually good character actors.

The advertising campaign for After Earth made special effort to not mention Shyamalan's involvement in the movie.  That's how toxic he's become.
