I'm glad I didn't waste any money renting John Wick.

Because EVERYONE that said how awesome this movie is were making understatements on the scale of the "Grand Canyon is a little bit of erosion".  O:-)

Well worth the $10 I paid.

I have it sitting in the Netflix sleeve on top of our DVD/Blu-ray player; will probably watch it tonight, then.

Tried watching the Watchmen again. Visually it's a great movie, but still can't get into it again.

My wife and I just watched Jurassic World.  I wasn't sure what to think of it prior to it coming out.  I wasn't a great fan of the movie franchise, only having seen the original movie in the theaters when it came out.

It wasn't bad, Chris Pratt played a good lead. Thou i personally, don't think being exSEAL makes you living Dinosaur handler. Combat fine, but animal handling something different. Least to me.  I think it's hard top the original, there no more surprises but wonder.  The film touches subject of over saturation of Dinosaurs being a common day thing. Climax of the movie was actually pretty good.   They left openings for another movie, but it would be interesting to see where they could go.

After watching it Thursday night, i agree with many of those who commented, how did that gal keep running like she did with HIGH heels on??

The script apparently called for her to ditch the shoes in her "action makeover" scene, but the first time they tried it, the actress decided that the only thing worse than running through the jungle in heels was running through the jungle barefoot.

Surprised when she went to get Owen (Pratt's character), they didn't have HIM mention it and offer up some trainers..

There are high heel races every year in the drag community.  A few women's charities have taken to the idea, as well.  There was a woman who completed a Tough Mudder two years back wearing pumps.

Finished the first season of "The Man in the High Castle" today. No real bad episodes so far, the acting and everything else has been excellent.

1) Obergruppenfuhrer Smith's son being diagnosed with the congenital disorder that means he needs to be killed - how much do you like the Reich now, John?

2) I guess the title really says it all about who it is buying the films. Ironic.

3) I am curious where the films are coming from - obviously some are the same as what happened in our reality; are they all footage of alternate realities, somehow?

IIRC in the original novel, it was someone from our world who had some means of crossing back and forth across parallel realities.  He was bringing the films from our world to that one.

Ah, that would make sense.

Except the nuking of San Fransisco, and the footage of Joe shooting Frank.

I didn't think Jurrisac World was that good of a movie. It was a overdone story with modified dinosaurs that go crazy. Let's make a scary dino by putting a t-Rex and a raptor together and other scary aminals too. Then the same awkward love story between hunter tracker dude like Pratt and the business lady. It reminded me of the two from Romancing the Stone movies love story. If it wasn't telling me that I was watching Jurrisac World every 5 minutes by product placement and other things this movie would of just a typical scary Dino movie.

Maybe I was going on way to high of hopes, with Starlord, raptors and T-Rex in a movie, I expected more.

I grew up watching that film and still think it is nuts that my parents thought that was fine for a 6 year old.  At the same time, I find it disappointing that no one my age gets my references to Steve Martin's song about sadism and dentistry.

Watched LA Confidential last night with my wife.  As she is a 1950s-phile it's now one of her favorite movies.  I won big across the board last night.

Trying to get her to watch Mongol with me tonight.

Well after a disappointment finding out my copy of Kokoda was unable to play on my DVD player because it's the wrong region, I tried the copy of Power Play I got in the mail the other day.

Wow this movie is cool!
Epitaph on an Army of Mercenaries

These, in the day when heaven was falling,      Their shoulders held the sky suspended;
The hour when earth's foundations fled,         They stood, and earth's foundations stay;
Followed their mercenary calling,               What God abandoned, these defended,
And took their wages, and are dead.             And saved the sum of things for pay.
