Just saw Push again yesterday and I enjoyed it...again. I thought the different super powers were done well, subtle but also powerful as well.

Also, I am re-watching Justice League and Justice League Unlimited since I bought the DVD's for JL, JLU, the Superman animated series recently and should have all the Batman series by next week. Bruce Timm's animated universe was just great imo. I grew up with the Batman animated series as a kid and still love all the series to this day.

DC's animated works have been surprisingly consistent in how good they've been, especially considering how awful their big screen works are.

I am surprised i have seen nothing on either a Push sequel or one to Jumper.

IIRC, neither one did well in the theaters.

As bad as it may sound I watched "The Fault In Our Stars".  I have to say WOW what a great movie!  After loosing two dads to cancer I was kind of leery about watching it.  It was not really about cancer, it was more about the life's of those dealing with cancer.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy states: "There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. Its knack lies in learning to throw yourself at the ground and miss. ... Clearly, it is this second part, the missing, that presents the difficulties."

It's been ages since I have seen this movie. I agree that it has a solid story and even breaks a couple of tropes (I wont be giving spoilers about which).

Is it just me are there to many movies that have that same idea. Post-apocalyptic, teenager, chosen one that  can save the world??? Hunger Games, Divergent, Enders Game, Maze Runner are some of the movies I have seen that are almost the same idea.
To be fair, Ender's Game was a popular, award winning novel years before the Hunger Games was even written.  I think in that case, a movie was justified based on the popularity and quality of the original story alone.

And yet the progenitor of this genre, The Alchemist has not made it to screen just yet.  The themes are all the same, an exagerated form of saying young people shouldn't be discouraged by the older generations.  By the way, you can throw Harry Potter in with this lot, as well.
Well, I would judge HP lacks the "dark future/post apocalyptic" setting of THG, Divergent, etc.  If you are just looking for YA stories where the young hero saves the day when the adults couldn't, there are probably thousands of books that fit that criteria, going back at least as far as The Wizard of Oz.   ;)

Well done!

I hope Han shot first in that version.  :)

Planes: Fire and Rescue.

The only time my two boys (7 and 3) have sat still for two hours in one hit. :)

Gives me hope for the future, that I may actually get to see a Marvel movie at the cinemas.

Lucio Fulci's Zombie. Finally got around to picking up the Blu Ray and checking this movie out. I'd been wanting to see it for years now. Enjoyable movie! I must say that Fulci's Zombies look awesome, and in some cases, even better than some from later Zombie films.

Better late than never, I watched "Kingdom of Heaven." Very enjoyable movie; I wonder how much was elaborated on, how much was legend and how much was close to the truth (aside from the broad historic strokes.)

Ah, Kingdom of Heaven.  Whenever I have to mention Orlando Bloom's lack of talent I point out how everyone essentially acted around him, despite being the protagonist.  Everyone else in the movie is more interesting, says more interesting things or in any other way is more memorable.  And it is hillarious to watch Bloom's scrunch faced disapproval of all the bad things going on.  I love it.

The only thing i liked about that movie was the action scenes.. Especially loved the 'angling' the Balistae to shoot into the sides of those 'towers' so they could pull them over.

I have no issue with Orlando Bloom's performance. If you want to talk about someone being acted around, have a look at Toby McGuire in "Spiderman" 1 and 2 (I never saw 3).

He has had some decent acting roles.  But i do agree, most of his work seems off.

Watched Earth to Echo.  Think E.T., but with a robot instead of an alien.  Though the technology demonstrated makes me thing the Iron Giant is a relative.
