(Answered) BA and Powerpoints
« on: 28 February 2014, 19:01:04 »
How much power points does a Battlearmor use in operation? And how big is its battery?

Some thoughts:
In the Classic Battletech Companion the additional power pack (page 180) supplies 10 hours from a 250 pp battery and 12 hours from a 300 pp for 25pph
Without extra power pack it has 24 hours, so that would be a 600 power point battery in every Battlearmor?

In the new A Time of War Companion no power point use or capacity is given but some of the electronic equipment is. Would that equipment be considered part of that consumption?

If i now tap into the main battery to power, say a handheld weapon on my PA(L), could i later switch off the communicator for a few hours to make up for it?

Unfortunately, this is an element we meant to include, but never did.
Likely an oversight to be fixed in future editions (if any), but meanwhile I'd have to make up something from whole cloth, without it benefiting from the process of normal rules creation. (Lots o peer review, and sometimes some playtesting)

The solution is just ignore Paul.
