ToW to Total Warfare Pilot/Gunnery

I've been through the Time of War rulebook a few times, in PDF format.   I can't figure out how to get Total Warfare Pilot and Gunnery numbers from a ToW character?  any help please.

Page 41 of AToW.  THe Boxed in area at the botem of the page titled "A Time of War VS. Total Warfare"

8 - Your AToW skill level = BattleTech Total Warfare skill level.
