These things completely invalidate the Snub Nose Artillery Cannons AND LRMs in all forms. They need to generate far more heat and weigh much more to even be considered balanced, as a medium sized Howitzer cannon can decapitate a Battlemech and weigh as much as a Clan LRM 20 launcher. Oh, and get five times more ammo to the ton.  Oh, and have a longer range then LRMs.

Even with the "Minimum range" and Jamming, I can effectively double a 3025 LRM Carrier's firepower, improving its range and endurance. Add in the fact that Vehicles don't bother with heat, and can unjam weapons that are not RACs, they completely annihilate LRM launchers from both factions.

??? I didn't know that it was that unbalanced as it is meant not to used as much I was trying to make something that was a bit better than normal artillery as I expected not to get positive feedback and in some respect it doesn't as there aren't rules written out for these weapons yet. at the moment I am considering to attempt to try and Mack them More balanced as sometime I screw up I need to make fluff explaining why they are that powerful. so please be a little considerate as I have no TRO's to speak of at all in all senses of the statement.

Edit: These were made for mechs rather then vehicles

Compare with artillery (cannons)...
Thumper Cannon: 5 Heat/Damage, LL range, 20 ammo/ton, 10 tons, 7 crits.
Sniper Cannon: 10 Heat/Damage, ERML range, 10 ammo/ton, 15 tons, 10 crits.
Long Tom Cannon: 20 Heat/Damage, ERLL range, 5 ammo/ton, 20 tons, 15 crits.
HOW-305: 12 Heat/14 Damage, LB-2X range, 35 ammo/ton, 5 tons, 3 crits.
HOW-550: 14 Heat/16 Damage, LB-2X range, 30 ammo/ton, 6 tons, 4 crits.
HOW-600: 16 Heat/18 Damage, Clan LB-2X range, 25 ammo/ton, 7 tons, 5 crits.

Ballistic weapons are *bulky* and *heavy* and get about 100 damage/ton of ammo.
With the ammo there are some noticeable exceptions, but the norm is around 100 damage/ton.
So that'd mean about 8 shots for the HOW-305, 6 shots for the HOW-550, and 5 shots for the HOW-600.
Considering the damage, it wouldn't be too off to see the tonnage increased by 10 or so.
AC/10 is 12 tons, AC/20 is 14, with way less range. The Gauss Rifle has similar damage, and weighs 15 tons.
As for the bulk: AC/10 is 7, AC/20 is 10, Gauss is 7. So upping the number of crits by 5 wouldn't be too weird either.

As for the BV, well, the only things that get close to the HOW-550 is the iHGR. The HPPC, LngTomCnn, GR, and HGR for the HOW-305. Nothing gets even remotely close to the HOW-600.

Glory to the Combine Snow Lily Empire!

I'm updateing the mat the moment keeping the damage and range the same bu upping the heat, weight, crits and lowering the ammo by slight ammo decrease 5-10. Also making min range longer. Also look at the clan HAG series as they corm remotly close in terms of BV for the HOW-660.

Perhaps sticking with the basic weapons while you're learning the game (If you are learning it... it seems unclear, based on your statements of not having any of the TROs). Also, what's the tech base? Is this IS, or Clan? Because if it's IS, these are slightly overvalued (Compare the Long Tom Artillery launcher to these), or in the case of the 305 to the 370, rather wrong. The lighter cannon is 339, and the heavier is 276.
I don't post to play nice with everyone. I post to posit my ideas. If this offends you, there's an ignore function.
I knew this day would come! The day of the stapler men has arrived!

Blame BV autocalc for the BV's. since I did used HMP to generate these I had problems getting the BV's right.
