Help with Fire Mandrill Protomech point.
« on: 18 October 2014, 05:13:46 »
Hello guys I'm trying to put on a point of protomech in the livery of Fire Mandrills.
I'm giving a look at the RAT from WoRs and  the availability for these losers go hand in hand. They have access to the following design:
Harpy Roc, Centaur, Hydra, Minotaure, Gorgon and Delphine.
It seems that the most common design is the Hydra, then we start from a point of 3 Hydra, what would you add to complete it?
Thanks in advance.
PS
I don't have Roc and Minotaure availability.
PPS
They have to support a Star of solhama(The last resort) so composed:
Mandrill, Vixen, Crimson Langur prime, Hellhound,Mad Dog prime.(Vixen and Hellhound with unseen stats).

I only just saw this thread, so I'm not sure if it's too late to reply or not.

Your force has a decent focus on long-ranged sandblasting and holepunching, so I'd use the protos to cover your critseeking deficiency. The Hydras are a good way to start, although they're a bit too slow to keep up with the main force and contribute if things turn into a melee. If you can work with variants, I'd suggest going with two Delphyne 2s. It's a Mandrill design, has a decent amount of maneuverability, and can score up to 8 different hits in one volley.

If variants are out of the question I'd probably go with two Centaurs. Their greater speed will help with encircling, slowing down targets enough so that the "main" force of Hydras can come into play.
