Is this still limited to a lance/star with skills of 4/5?

Could I do an Inner Sphere star?  I want to test some of the new Canopian heavies and mediums, and a lance only brings me up to about 8000 bv.

sorry no. IS gets a lance, clans get star.

now if you want ot mix and match IS forces that is cool. you do not have to have a faction for your force just IS or Clan.

The Brother's Grimm in Selden.

Shadhawk,  I found the skills table.  It's in Techmanual on p. 314.

If all are welcome, I might have to make the trip from Budd Lake, NJ to get some time in.

I had an idea for our next game.  I was thinking of a salvage operation where each player sends a recon/striker force to claim the salvage before the other side.  No unit may be more than 35 tons, except that each player may field a salvage unit with stats consistent with the Tonbo.

Hey Guys -

hope things went well the other week...  as for next month, the salvage thing sounds good, but I have a few questions...

1) any unit, or mechs & vehicles only?
2) bv?
3) unit size?
4) ummm...  this may sound stupid...  but what's a Tonbo? don't remember that one from any of the tro's I've seen...

anyway, lemme know what you have in mind, jim.

The details are up to Shadhawk.  A description of the Tonbo is at http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tonbo .  I can print a record sheet for you.

I am working on the game. so far it will be vehicles and infantry. I am thinking a city ... well what will still be around ... for the different forces to hunt in. salvage will be in different places around the city. salvage will be different items. each will have a set amount of salvage space and can take from the other. beagle probes and guardian ecm will be of use in this game. it will be bv 2 off the master table all units will be 4/5 to keep the book keeping easy. more as I work it out.

Hey guys -

next two weeks are out for me too, jim... so how's the 3rd weekend?  As for the setup...

how bout we use some of the double blind rules like sensor detection and such?  we don't have to do the full thing, since that drags on too long for you guys, but would be nice to make it so our units might not notice that little ol' ac/20 patiently waiting by the building...  otherwise, sounds good so far.

Btw, why would you want a tonbo when you can use a planetlifter?  is faster and has real armor... not that commercial BAR crap.

The third weekend is good for me.
Double blind rules would mean that we have half the playing area, so I'm not thrilled with them.

no ... no ... no  :-X

this is what it is

city grounds
grids
each player will make a security force for a recovery team that I will supply.
each player gets 3500 bv 1 in points all units are regular .... 4 / 5 for vehicles ... 4  for infantry.
each player will pick point of entry to the city and then get a slip that will give them the grid they will be going to look for salvage.
scale will be 1 to 1
the grids will be a 6 x 6 area of the map the map will be 48 x 48
in each grid will be 4 different spots for things to happen .... item to be recovered, mine field, someone trying to recover something, an armed unit looking to shoot at you or nothing  }:) .... I will have each plotted  }:)
when you hit a spot I will let you know what happens  }:)  ;D
as the game moves along you will have to figure out what you want to do. go for the item you know the grid, take on one of the other players or cut and run.

game on  }:)

Hey Guys -

sounds good... I like the way you made it a bit of a blind event like I was hoping... thank you.   [rockon]

have a few questions, though:

1)  Is this going to be any time period's equipment, or a specific year and before?
2)  VTOL's - yes or no?
3)  IS only,  Clan only, or is a mixed unit allowed too?
4)  when you say grids, is that hexes, or square grid on terrain?

-C

P.S. - If Jim gets Urbies, I get aerospace, right?   ;D

We may need to raise the bv a little.  An Epona and a point of elementals exceeds it. (bv=3712)

Disregard last post.  I've found a force I like.

no ... no ... no  :-X
It would have been the only game in which the urbanmech could claim to be king of the battlefield. :-[

It couldn't be a blind event because we'd need two sets of minis.

1)  Is this going to be any time period's equipment, or a specific year and before?

anything up to 3067

2)  VTOL's - yes or no?

yes

3)  IS only,  Clan only, or is a mixed unit allowed too?

clan or IS ... the only mix is Wolf's Dragons and only what is on the faction chart

4)  when you say grids, is that hexes, or square grid on terrain?

square grids on the map. the map will be set into 6 inch square grids and they will be broken into 1 inch grids.
you will be given a chit with were you are looking for your salvage. said chit will be handed out after you pick your entry point. OH entry point is handed to the GM not said out loud. more fun  }:)

keep in mind that you bv is for the security force I will give players recovery forces.

No era is given in the TRO.  The Master Units List gives their use as Succession Wars Era.  Is this fine with you?
