Speak for yourself. Some of us specialize specifically in not being in the line of fire.  :P

With a Heavy slow regiment like this?  We have Mechs that a man jogging can out run. ;)

[bender voice] We're Doooooooooommmmmmed [/bender voice]

Can not wait for MA to write up what happens. I am look forward to to seeing how our unit fairs.

Colonel Miaowara Hanako Von Khristenson
Commander and CEO of Wulfric's Legion Incorporated.

The battalion-sized Legion is all that remains of a once-proud militia combined arms regiment from Sadalbari, the 3rd Sadalbari Volunteers.  The Legion arrived on Outreach early this year, but its story is well known.  For nearly 10 years, the Legion has hopscotched a path away from Kuritan space, usually by taking garrison and training assignments as they can be found.  During the slow process of movement and rebuilding, the Legion has been led by widow and warrior merchant, Colonel Miaowara Hanako Von Khristenson.

In 3038, the Regiment consisted of a reinforced 'Mech battalion, 2 battalions of conventional armor, and 2 reinforced battalions of mechanized/mobilized infantry.  But it had a fatal flaw: jealousy of a jilted lover.  In 3033, a minor heiress to Sadalbari Solutions, one Miaowara Hanako, chose and married a young Tai-I of Militia, Wulfric Von Khristenson.  All was well, except for a bitter and rejected Chu-Sa from the 2nd Shin Legion... Victor Coale.  A drunken Victor Coale shamed himself during the reception when he swore eternal vengeance on the happy couple, and proceeded to pass out into the wedding cake.

Fast forward to April of 3039, when Sadalbari was hit by Invasion Wave One, the 3rd FedCom RCT and the 5th Davion Guards.
Finally, Coale had his change for revenge.  Citing military strategy, the 3rd Volunteers were flung against superior numbers, repeatedly stalling the FedCom advance.  Despite the Regiment's ill use, it was the jump infantry battalion of Sho-sa Khristenson which attacked the FedCom HQ and captured both General Davion and Marshall Cunningham.  Coale claimed full credit, but Khristenson's success galled him to fratricide.

It was by Coale's direct orders that the exhausted and battered 2nd Motorized Btln of the 3rd Volunteers were left to defend a weak position in the face of counterattacking FedCom horde.  And when those brave troopers were shattered and overrun, Coale placed his most fanatical troops in guard over the 3rd Volunteer's dependents.  The order was given to the 3rd Sadalbari Volunteers: hold defense line Kotiate or their dependents would be executed.

The shattered remains of the 3rd Volunteers held out against the FedCom onslaught for 3 hours, until the 2nd Shin Legion and Coale retreated behind the Kotiate Mountains and into the ancient Castle Brian.  Their duty done, the 3rd was surrendered by its highest ranking brevet officer: Chu-I Miaowara Hanako Von Khristenson.  Presenting herself and the few surviving senior NCOs to the surprised FedCom Merc Liasion, Chu-I Khristenson negotiated the creation of Wulfric's Legion, Inc.

At its inception, the Legion could claim possession of 18 APCs, 3 severely understrength infantry companys, and nearly 3000 shell-shocked, widowed, orphaned and grieving dependents.  It has been from this devastated core, that Colonel Khristenson has led, loved and rebuilt the Legion to its current strength.  While the unit is considered reliable and regular trained, outside recruiters can attested to the absolute fanatical devotion the Legionnaires hold for their widowed Colonel and their unit.

The Legion's uniform schema is dark green tunics over medium brown coveralls.  Vehicles have medium brown sides with upper surfaces of mottled green.  The unit logo is that of a bright gold numeral 3 shaped W (for Wulfric), crushing a Shin Legion Buddha.  Founding veterans are entitled to wear a bright green 7 point star in rememberance of Sadalbari.

GROGNARD:  An old, grumpy soldier, a long term campaigner (Fr); Someone who enjoys playing tactics and strategy based board wargames;  a game fan who will buy every game released in a certain genre of computer game (RTS, or computer role-playing game, etc.)

I'd have liked an assault 'mech - personal favourite the PLG-3Z Pillager. I had even started thinking of how to explain having one (Star League cache naturally) when I read the embargo on Lyran-style 'Mechs

In stead I'd like to offer/ask for

A BJ-2 Blackjack piloted by a former Fed Sunner called Andre Bleu who came to specialise in offer HQ defence especially against air attacks and light 'Mech head hunters with he combination of ER large Lasers and Streak SRMs during his time in the 8th Crucis Lancers

An ex-pat Terran, Terrence "Spike" Milligan  took a 'Mech from long term storage in a local militia store in slightly dubious circumstances - a Star League era Heliopolis as his family thought an artillery 'Mech might keep him safer than a front line machine and so off he went after a bit of training and his experience in the local militia (no real combat though) to find his fortune in the Inner Sphere...

Edited as I forgot a name for the second character

since we need more combat units to make the regimant full.

We are moving the stig into leading his own lance of urbanmechs.
Team Stig urbanmech defence team
It consits of the THE Stig, His Teenaged cussin Teen STIG, His Redneck trucker Cussin Redneck Stig, and his martial arts cussin Martial Arts Stig.
The greatest moving and totaly silent killers anywhere. You never seen them out of uniform, they never talk back to the CO. heck they never talk at all.
Needlass to say this unit will be the ones to really take to calling out clan units to fight one on one a light since they are the most insane and you can never tell just where they might show up on the battlefeild and then vanish again. Then again how many times are you going to see urbanmechs doing combat drops out of no where.
the mech of the unit is the standard 3025 ac-10 model.

Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Meaningful gestures with the small laser barrel.
Not even Morse code?

Captain Mikhail Barber was once a merchant spacer plying the New Avalon - Solaris route as master of the Adelpha, a Buccaneer fitted out as a semi-luxury passenger transport. Life was good, peaceful and relatively well-paying. Far removed from his days chasing pirates as a Section Leader for the Outworlds Alliance Military Corps.

Until a distant cousin of the Haseks press-ganged the Adelpha to carry himself, two of his pretties, an Avanti Aircar and assorted other luxury items on a raid in the Capellan border. Not surprisingly, the raid was a resounding failure. What's more the Adelpha, along with the raid's mastermind was lost when the LZ was overrun.

Barber and most of his crew fortunately managed to escape aboard another dropship and make their way back to New Sirtis. He claimed compensation, and the Davion officials, in a hurry to do damage control agreed. Unfortunately, the misadventure had already cost too much, and the best they could do was replace his dropship with one that was so much smaller and far different in purpose to the Adelpha that many of his remaining crew opted out of their contracts in disgust.

The replacement hull the Davions gave him was an Avenger. One that had had several of the heavier weapons removed - though the mountings for the weapons themselves remained. Unfortunately, after compensating those who left and the families of the lost, refitting it with second hand weapons was actually a more affordable option compared to having the dropship refit for passenger duty.

With no other choice, he has retrained his crew for combat operations and gone into the mercenary business.

MechWarrior: Major Dane "Longshot" Brammidge

'Mech: STN-3KB Sentinel

The character above and his 'Mech are being changed. The 'Mech is now a PXH-3M Phoenix Hawk

First character's bio

MechWarrior Leroy Geraint Biffington, aka "The Prismatic Pauper", now the "Prismatic Prince", spent all of his career fighting in the Reaches of Solaris 7 until he won the Solaris in 3048 and collected nearly 50 million C-Bills in pre-tax winnings. With his winnings he paid off his debts and bought the most advanced 'Mech his money could buy. Using contacts throughout the Solaris 7 weapons market he was able to procure a brand new PXH-3M Phoenix Hawk which he has dubbed "Rainbow Bright". Once he got the 'Mech into bay he painted it in neon colours representing the seven colours of the visual spectrum. A bright red at the feet through the spectrum to a neon violet at its head. Leroy is known as the Reaches for his flamboyant dress and outlandish behavior. His last known residence on Solaris was within the confines of the small, yet lavish, Canopian sector that borders the Black Hills and Cathay sectors of Solaris. Here he indulged in many hedonistic pursuits throwing outrageous parties and courting many of the City's young, attractive and available females. Within a year his newfound fortune was nearly spent,  so he left Solaris 7 and made his first to Galatea, then Outreach, to seek a new fortune and flee those who had taken so much of his money. With a meager 1.5 million C-Bills left from his winnings, Leroy is being more frugal with his money, spending just enough money to keep his 'Mech working and getting as much training time as possible at the Dragoon facilities in and around Harlech city. He has spending a lot of time with Favia Mauser (see below) in training as well on the twon in some of Harlech's finer establishments.

Second character

I'm going smaller with my second choice, the STG-A1 Stinger LAM Mk I. Piloted by Favia 'The Gray' Mauser, the Stinger LAM, nicknamed "Heartseeker", had been disassembled during the Amaris Crisis by her many times grandfather and placed in cold storage until the end of the War of 3039. Her father, a medically retired MechWarrior, re-discovered this family heirloom on their estate on the planet of Chahar and he had it painstakingly rebuilt and some of the electronics replaced. Once rebuilt, Favia's father gifted her the Stinger as she enlisted in Melissia Theater militia. Following her eight years of service to the planetary militia. She made her way eventually to Outreach. As an independent contractor, she's served with six different commands over the last five years. Her most recent contract was with Ace Darwin's WhipIts. Her last employment allowed her to return "Heartseeker" to its original armament of pulse weaponry. Until this time, the weaponry was a Medium Laser two small lasers and two machineguns. Due to a rare genetic anomaly, Favia was born with gray hair, which has gotten lighter as she has gotten older. She tried changing the colour to a dirty blonde earlier in her teen years, but it did not hold for long and she went back to her natural gray. To accent her hair colour, she wears clothes that are dark in hue, usually rich reds, blue and purples. Her Stinger LAM is painted a medium gray with trim in crimson, cobalt blue and indigo. Unemployed for the last six months she can usually found with Leroy Biffington on the many training grounds around Harlech City. The two share an apartment a mere six blocks from MRBC's Hiring Hall.

EDIT: Just putting both characters together and making a few edits. I ditched the Royal Sentinel for one of the Comstar Sentinels sent to the Dracs prior to the War of 3039.

BattleMech:  ASN-21 Assassin
MechWarrior:  Robert "Hunter" Huntley

BattleMech:  SDR-9K Spider
MechWarrior:  Leslie "Tarantula" Wilson

Fast, faster, and fastest.  All MechWarriors appreciate firepower, most appreciate maneuverability, but some live for speed.  Specializing in recon and surgical strikes, Huntley and Wilson are firm believers in getting in and getting out as quick as possible.  Disdaining anything and everything with a top speed of less than 100 kph, they are often seeing drag racing their custom Avanti sports cars down the ferrocrete runways much to the ire of their commanding officer.

And coming in just under the wire...

Every group has one person that is best described as an “oddball.”  The MechWarrior known as the Mighty Midget is definitely the oddball in any group.  Standing only a meter and a half tall there are continually jokes about stacking books up in the seat of his Grasshopper so that he can see out of the cockpit; he says it’s nice to have the extra room to stretch out.  Further demonstrating his oddball status is that he continually has a coffee cup clipped to his belt, when asked, he responds that it’s simply because he never wants to leave it sitting around where anyone else can get their hands, or other body parts, on it.

All those quirks aside, his 5N Grasshopper is very well maintained and equipped for his preferred duty of long-duration independent reconnaissance but is equally at home as a fast-reaction/cavalry unit.  The all-energy load out of the 5N and heavy armor has allowed the Midget to keep his ‘mech on the battlefield, or preferably on the fringes of the battle, long after other units have had to withdraw to reload.
Slavish adherance to formal ritual is a sign that one has nothing better to think about.

Meh, between the LAM I have and the Aquilla class JumpShip I offered to add to transport assets, I'm prolly good anyway.
