Mad Cat Mk IV "Bounty Hunter"
« on: 22 November 2015, 06:18:58 »
So I was inspired by the MC4's fan article and mention of 'what would the Bounty Hunter drive' and well...I can't go quite as all-out gonzo as the Skinwalker, but damn if this thing doesn't try.  Yes, it would run insanely hot, but the RHS gives it that 51 point heat dissipation - which will cut way down on the thermal pain of an alpha strike.  And boy howdy is that one mean alpha.

Because "**** you I'm an anteaterthe Bounty Hunter" that's how.  Oh come on, "How does the Bounty Hunter get a Nova CEWS" wasn't your first question?

Seriously, this is kind of a mixed bag.  LAMS is for being an even bigger jerk to people with SRMs, though I guess using it on incoming Arrow IV is probably a good idea.  Especially if said Arrow happens to be an Alamo.  (...Now I wonder, CAN you use AMS on an Arrow?)  I wanted to roll two ERPPCs with one iHML, but alas there wasn't tonnage for it - not without losing the RHS that makes it (somewhat) work and the Targeting Computer.  I wanted to back up the Larges with CERMLs to match the range profile, but that would have put me over-tonnage with the TC, so I went with the ER flamer for style and antipersonnel work, and the LAMS because it didn't affect the TC tonnage.

It's...what it is, I guess.  Surprised it didn't break 3000BV, but I guess it just runs too damn hot.

I have a few problems with this design.

While it does follow the over all weapons philosophy of the Bounty hunter's original Marauder choices, it completely ignores the Timber Wolf Bounty Hunter configuration. Which means pulses should go on instead.

The Radical Heat Sink, ER Flamer, and ERPPC are nice additions. But the Nova CEWS is a confusing touch. Who would he/she/it even use it with? Nobody in the Inner Sphere would use the tech. It'd make more sense for the Bounty Hunter to mount ECM and LAP.

Or a Watchdog CEWS instead of the Nova, better ranges on the ecm and probe and the Nova wont link with IS C3 anyway.
