I couldn't help but notice that the emblem for the 18th Dieron Regulars on page 33 of CM: Kurita stands out quite a bit from the other regimental insignias created over the years. Namely: rather than being a simple logo it largely conforms to the rules of heraldry.
First question: is the charge a stylized nuclear mushroom cloud?
Second question: is the insignia actually meant to conform with the rules of heraldry, and therefore what can be "read" from the insignia based on those rules is deliberate, despite putting metal on metal? I kind of hope so... it'd be a badass statement of power and extreme arrogance and I love it :D
