I hosted an Alpha Strike open game at MilCon19 this year.  I actually had 3 tables set up - all based on MWO maps that I like.  Unfortunately I only got pictures of one, because I was helping this game along quite a bit.  Also, this one is Based on River City, so my favorite.  The other two were based on Canyon Network and Boralis Vault Maps.

Anyways - fun to make this board and it is very cheap, too.  It is using the DropZone COmmander card stock buildings, some blue foam, cheap fabric, trees and tree area terrain mats I already own and some hobby cut boards and road tape.  It took me almost no time from conception to assembly and I can break it down in minutes.

Here we have two Companies (each a lance short for reserves) from the Deneb Light Cav

I won't get too much into it since this is not an AAR, but about the boards - some close ups of how the boards look at "Mech Of the Earth" level.

No photos, just a Amazon advertisement?

I was curious to see the Dropzone Commander buildings because I have thought of printing the cardstocks.  Did you use the foam to reinforce them?

Yeah, I was hoping for a faster way to post pics over IMGUR.  My pics directly go to Amazon, so was easy there, but then I can't edit them to make them smaller....  Anyways, I went ahead and DL'd and posted to IMgur and just resized the one so that this post is still small browser friendly.

No need to really reinforce the cardstock buildings.  Many are not fully glued in fact so that you can fold out the top and collapse the building for easy 2D storage.

The Blue Foam I used here was for the banks - so that there is a pronounced landmass and dip down into the river delta area.  I can use these massive sized foam sheets for other terrain features like a ridge or entrance to a canyon, etc.

Ah, now I can see!  Yeah the DZC stuff looks pretty good and I DL'd the files while they were available I just have not had any printed.  I also have Burned in Designs buildings and made a few myself.

I have hills of the purple foam so I know what you mean.

Indeed, one good looking gaming board. Our gaming group also uses the DC card stock buildings and terrain maps.
But to introduce a nice and easy to set up visual elevation like this, is a nice hint for us. Thanks!

My next project is the fit in a 4ft long aircraft carrier made from wood into that map.  ONe of the local guys made it (and it does look amazing) for the RoboTech Tactics game that failed.

I think it would be a cool inclusion on a board - just for mechs to battle across and maybe use as part of an objective.
