You know . . . a lot of these maps I see end up being island-looking.  How does the one for Terra compare?

Not for any of these maps, but back in the Day I did it for my own D&D world.

OK, a quick check of Sarna shows no planetary map for Wernke and the write up isn't that long, both of which suggest that the world is a candidate for getting a Spotlight On, but would such a product include maps for just Wernke or would it also include Talon?

Talon/Wernke great until the Capellans nuke them... but you're right double wammy right there.  Niops could be fun too...

Personally I think there should be more moon fights, it fleshs out the universe more and given that there's no atmosphere (Generally) it plays to the 'Mechs strengths.

Just got it.  Kind of reminds me of Risa from Star Trek.  Also, for those asking if anyone has glued together a planet map I present to you Tharkad 8).

Touring the Star: Mizar is pretty interesting read with couple good entries into RPG / Event for mercenaries / players to get act on world.

I especially like how early years of the Terran Hegemony's re-conquest of old world of the Alliance was noted how Konrad McKenna ran into a road block at world of Syrma, which telegraphic issues effect things on Mizar.  I wasn't expecting early event from Age of War coming up. Really interesting stuff!  I wonder if this will lead to TtS : Syrma will be added to the growing list of suppliments!

For the number of TtS PDFs released it looks like it is a fairly popular line that will hopefully continue for a long time to come. There are thousands of worlds with little to no information still out there and while most might not be very interesting just adding to the lore of the universe is enough to keep my wallet empty. Same could be said of the Spotlight series, though we only have two of those so far but I have enjoyed both. Still waiting for Wilson's Hussars though ;D

Y'know, I could see once you reach near completion, a compilation of these by general faction, and maybe a tertiary one that shows contested worlds which have changed hands often.

Well, when you throw in the Turning Points series on top of the Touring the Stars materials you've got about 30 planetary maps done and another 1,970 to go >:D.  In another half a century we could have an entirely mapped out Inner Sphere :D

Although, we do have a surprising number of worlds that we have data on.  I worked it out once but I believe we have almost 400 with stated populations and economic data from all the sourcebook material from over three decades of publications.  You can pretty much pick a planet at random and have a 20% chance of finding a write up on it.  I honestly can't think of any fictional universe that is fleshing itself out in this kind of detail.

On a side note I would a Touring the Stars for one of the Clan Homeworlds like Huntress or Strana Mechty.

P.S.  Just to see how fleshed out things are I took a trip on Sarna to Terra from Lost and using Tharkad as the half way point.  In the Nine jumps it took to get from Lost to Tharkad 3 of planets had full write ups with populations and histories, from Tharkad to Terra 6 of the 12 planets had Full Write Ups with one having a less detailed write up from a novel.  I could tell you the atmospheric compisition, technological progress, and population of almost half the worlds between Lost and Terra.  That is a crazy amount of detail for a universe with 2,000 planets :o.

Historical Operation Klondike has short writeups and half-page maps of the 5 Pentagon Worlds (Arcadia, Babylon, Circe, Dagda, & Eden) and Strana Mechty. They're the same style as the ones in the turning points & touring the stars, but without as many locations on them and no hexes. If you can find The Clans: Warriors of Kerensky, it has those same 6 worlds and adds Homer, Marshall, New Kent, and Tokasha to the mix.
