Disappointed in the ****** not picking one of the Edmunds brothers, but happy they both went in the first round.
However, I'm fine with the 'Skins grabbing 'Bama and Hokie players.  Solid defensive education from both programs particularly on the D-line and secondary.

With the hall of fame game completed time to resurrect this thread with some predictions.

AFC:

East: Even if Darth Bill has decided to burn it all down I don't see anyone other than New England claiming this division.

South: Titans look the most solid but this one I'm prepared to be wrong on.

West: Kansas City.  Only Oakland looks like they could challenge.

North: Steelers.

Wild cards: Oakland, Cincinnati

NFC:

East: Dallas.  I expect Philly to fall off hard, the Giants are dysfunctional, and Washington is not only dysfunctional but I wonder if there is something in their water.

South: Tampa Bay.  Cam will whine too hard for Carolina to focus and everyone else looks to be questionable at best.

West: Pains me to say this but San Fransisco.  I don't think Seattle's improved their O-line enough and as much as I maintain Sherman has been succeeding more by reputation than ability for a while now that reputation is working for someone else now.  Arizona is in rebuild mode and the Rams will certainly make it a good show this year but I expect them to fall just short.

North: Green Bay mostly because someone has to.

Wildcards: Rams, Vikings

Super Bowl: Steelers over the 49ers in what should be an overall good but ultimately dissappointing game.

I'm in. All predictions subject to edit due to training camp injuries and such.

AFC East: New England
AFC South: Jacksonville
AFC West: Kansas City
AFC North: Baltimore
Wild Cards: Pittsburgh, Oakland

NFC East: Philadelphia
NFC South: New Orleans
NFC West: Los Angeles
NFC North: Minnesota
Wild Cards: Atlanta, Green Bay

AFC Champ: New England
NFC Champ: Los Angeles

Super Bowl Champ: Los Angeles

NEVER underestimate a Wade Phillips defense with a good offense backing it up. He won a Super Bowl with the shambling corpse of Peyton Manning on the offensive side a couple of years ago, imagine what that suddenly-scary Rams offense could do with his roaring defense backing it up?

(Side note, Denver homer predicts 5-11 with that idiot Vance Joseph fired as head coach around Thanksgiving.)

Hear, hear!

Btw, I apparently managed to miss all of the draft talk.  Hellbie, what do you think of Denver’s draft?  The 1st round pick looks like an excellent one, and I forget who all was after that.

Speaking of the draft: Detroit fans, you got a good one in Frank Ragnow.  I’ve had the pleasure of watching him at Arkansas for the past few years, and he’s a fine o-lineman.  Great guy too.

Denver's draft was awesome. Chubb, Freeman, Sutton and Hamilton are standing out during training camp and will contribute heavily. Yiadom will be the nickel CB by the end of the season. I'm not a faan of Joseph, but I expect the Broncoswill get to 8-8 despite his bumbling. I've been watching a lot of TC videos and Keenum is the real deal, but should he get hurt the team will suffer with Lynch in his place.

To be honest, I tend to ignore drafts. It's hard to get excited over it for me, too many players end up hyped to death before ending up just fizzling as soon as they make it to the big team. Want proof? Paxton Lynch is my poster child for this. Remember how he was going to be a game-changer, Jerry Jones was pissed, etc.? Yeah. Jerry lucked out.

And really when you look at it it is surprising just how many early draft picks end up busts while later draft picks tend to be the real deals with long lasting careers.

There are a *lot* of later picks.  People remember the ones who do well, and forget the hundreds who never make it.  I’d be willing to bet that 1st Rounders have a better track record by far for NFL careers than 5th, 6th, or 7th rounders on average.

True there may be a perception bias and I can admit it does seem to be position dependent too.

Just saw a short article that Suh is still holding a grudge that Bradford went before him in the draft.  8 years later.  Hey Suh, I maybe its because even back then everyone knew that Bradford was just a classier guy?

Some people are just motivated by that stuff.  Maurice Jones-Drew wore 32 for almost his entire career as a constant reminder that all 32 teams passed on him (Jax selected him 60th in around 2).  If that’s where he gets his motivation to go hard, more power to him.

Don't know what the problem is, unless it's about guaranteed money. The pay scale for rookies is pretty well fixed at a certain rate. HIs agent/advisers are doing him wrong, he needs to be in camp.

This year I might actually root for the Baltimore Ravens if they actually use their new norwegian kicker/punter (Kåre Vedvik) any. He's great at both jobs...

He hit one FG and two extra points against Chicago in the pre-season game , and landed 4 out of 8 punts within the 20 yard line with the longest at 68 yards.

He wants assurances that if he gets disciplined for the new helmet rule that they won't take away his guaranteed money.

Bonus, if the Ravens play the way they did last year, he'll get a lot of punting opportunities! Stat-padding!  ;D

Credit given, I like that reasoning better than a mere correction.  ;D

(I also still call them San Diego constantly, partly because I'm forgetful and partly because I feel like it would really piss off Dean Spanos, and he deserves it.)

He's never earned the respect of the fans and has woefully underperformed and has not met the least of expectations. I've always liked Chad Kelly, even if he was Mr. Irrelevant in the 2017 draft (2nd/3rd talent, total bozo in his personal life, which he has tuned around)

I'm actually a little surprised that I'm the first one to post about the Browns actually winning a game.  I know it is only pre-season and all but I'm pretty sure it is still a sign of the end times.   ;D

The Browns won all four Preseason games last year.

The Lions also won all four of their Preseason games in 2008.

As of right this second, "win all four Preseason games" is the single most reliable predictor of a winless regular season. ^-^
