Liao House Imarra VTR-9B Victor
« on: 29 January 2011, 08:00:35 »

This is the first time I've posted a miniature here, so fire away with comments and questions, I know I am a long way off the CSO team's level, but I look to them for inspiration and something to work towards.

I really like this.  You did a good job with the wash and I like how the green and gold really pop.  Good job.

Thanks for the comments, the green was VERY easy - probably the easiest part of the whole paint job - GW snot green highlighted with scorpion green.

And I got a fair idea the kinda personal emotions that some of you fellas may be thinkin'. Heck, I reckon you wouldn't even be human bein's if you didn't have some pretty strong personal feelin's about nuclear combat.

RotS-Targe that was good work picking them out - my oldest son went through a Bademon phase and marbles and the cases were being left all throughout the house .... eventually the interest passed but I would still find pieces scattered around, so one day I picked up a few of his cases and threw them into my bits box thinking they looked useful.  Maybe a year later I came up with that little piece of scenery - I think I finished it maybe 2 years ago ..... I like it, it looks gritty.

See unrealistic and grandiose plans and little free time tends to squash those efforts.  That said, I ought to focus small and just plug away at it.  Thanks for the advice.

I like it a lot. It captures the Imarra ivory white finely.

Thanks for the comment Foxbat, Adrian at CSO also commented on how well I did the ivory - it took a bit of research and a good look at what colours I had to play with to achieve the result.   I have more images of my other House Imarra mechs posted over there (at CSO).

And I have more house Imarra miniatures that are not posted in case I decide to one day make a submission.

I decided to branch out to this forum (with a new username).

This is an exceptionally nice piece, certainly beyond the quality of many of  the older CO minis, and within striking distance of many current. Very nice.
